Is Deuce really the answer at RB ???
I mean i like Deuce and all but past few years he has just been and injury on the team literally he is injured most of the time. He barely got 1000 yards last year he isnt running like he use to i dont no wats wrong with him but we signed him and joe horn to long term and i no deuce has been out and horn has been out for a little while but they havent contributed to the team like i wanted them tooo.....
But i guess it all falls back to its brooks fault ???? |

RE: Is Deuce really the answer at RB ???
I think Deuce is the answer. He's been struggling as of late but the guy is obviously a top-tier running back. We can whine about his injuries but his backups have been solid too.
I think it's waaaaaaaay to early to stick the fork in him, draft/sign someone else, and watch them run for 45 yards per game. |

No we have already been discussing Deuce's time is up, he needs to go we haven't gone anywheres with him. He seems slower the injuries keep piling up, I think we can go in a different direction. We need to rebuild this team from the top to the bottom, a complete overhaul.

RE: Is Deuce really the answer at RB ???
I still think Deuce can be the RB that he was a few years ago. He needs to lose some serious weight, hit the weight room, and try and gain back some of that speed that he lost in the last few years. If he can slim down, I think he'll be more streamlined and more able to carry this offense like he used to,

This is a major misconception about speed... you either have it or you don't and the older you get the more quicker you lose it. You can work on building your speed but you're going going to have a VAST improvement.

RE: Is Deuce really the answer at RB ???
If Reggie Bush is there at our draft position, can anyone see us pulling a Ricky Williams type trade again? Let Deuce play another full year with Bush as a backup and the year after trade Deuce... will another team be willing to take on such a huge contract?
Actually I'll answer that... no another team will not be willing to take that on. So basically if we're "stuck" with a healthy(key word) Deuce for the next 4 or 5 years, you won't see a frown on my face. A 100% Deuce McAllister is as good as any other running back out there. It would suck if we do pass on a Bush and Deuce continues with his nagging injuries every year though. Tough decision and something that needs to be thought long and hard about during the offseason. |

... well, he surely wasn't the answer last season, nor this one for that matter...
.. the Saints got him because he was perceived as being injury-prone... may be he is injury prone after all... ...looking forward, is more of a gamble that anything else. If he stays healthy, he's as good as any... if he keeps on getting nicked every year, well... I love Dulymus' attitude, so I hope he's given at least another year. |

Pick Bush if he's there and let the two players complement each other. Like Dunn and Duckett, or Bell and Anderson. Bush is hands down the best prospect in this years draft if he chooses to forego his senior year at USC. Too good to pass up.
