I know it might seem redundant because a lot of the people on this board think Haslett sucks, but I just thought that this was a pretty good quote.

I agree. We have enough talent (when everyone's healthy) to be a consistant playoff team. But all these 4th quarter losses, penalties, miss communications of routes and coverage, and failed 2 point, 3rd down and 4th down conversions comes down to coaching! Can't blame that on the players.

yes you can... its called execution. We lose the game at the opening kick off... don't blame 4th quater. Brooks has more fourth quater comebacks than most qb's. Bad routes some comes into play that the player/wr hasn't developed yet enough.

Simmons has attacked the Saints frequently. He has as long as I've read him. I'm not sure he's off base about it, but he likes to hammer Haslett's Saints.

Honestly I don't know which team is worse Detroit are us, we both have talent up the gazooba, but can't even seem to tie our shoe-laces right. Coaching here is obvious, in Detroit??? 2 different staffs same problems, put in a new QB, same problem?

With all the talent in the world you go know where without the right people in the front office.

Detroit is a far worse team.

But who job is it to make sure everyone's on the same page? For example, with the penalties in the final 5 minutes of the Jets game. Haz to simplify the play. It was less than 3 minutes and Jets were out of time outs. Keeping the clock running was more important than getting the 1st down at that point. Yeah, Haz didn't plan on his line getting a holding flag, but should have ran the play up the middle were it would have been dang near impossible for anything to go wrong.

It also depends on the player and the refs on what was holding. Haslet is a good guy and I think he tells his coaches and the players what to do but if they do not want to execute it right that is not his fault. If a defensive lineman knows how to play then that Offensive lineman is going to hold anyway, just habit to prevent the D from getting to his QB. Unless the OL wants the QB to get hit then it makes you wonder about the whole season from a OL stand point. All these holding calls??? Just alot of What Ifs. Even if going up the middle somebody is going to do something funking.
