Saints would still lose if defense was the 2000 Ravens

Those who know me, know that I'm not a stats guy, but I came across this nugget while answering another post, and I feel it's worth it of its own thread.

Check this out:

Points scored by the 2005 Saints offense: 15.9 per game

Points allowed by the 2000 Ravens defense: 16.5 per game

So, even if the Saints defense was the equivalent of the 2000 Ravens defense, they'd still lose by the totally inept play of the offense!!!

The 2005 Saints defense would have to be the equivalent of the 1985 Bears defense, which allowed less than 13 points per game, for the Saints to actually win games.

Discuss...
