Even Halo wouldn't mind seeing the Saints lose-out and receive the number 1 or 2 pick in the draft. Does that make him a "So-Called" Saints fan?

If he wants to see them obtain that pick by losing the majority of their games, then yes, he's an SC, just like several others. |
Maybe wanting the team to lose-out makes us Saints fans too, because we would like to see the team ultimately better themselves. I understand that some people truly dislike the Saints, but I would say that the majority of us, who would like to see them lose-out are not doing it to see the team fail, but rather to help the team ultimately improve overall. At least that is my intention. Does that make me an "SC"?

Yes, you are an SC.
You naturally assume that getting an early draft pick is going to improve this team, without question. That's a sure sign of a SC. The Cincinatti Bengals were drafting within the first 10 picks for YEARS. YEARS, DAMMIT. Sure, they got Carson Palmer......but how many early first round picks does it take to turn a team around???? Chad Johnson, arguably their best offensive weapon, was a SECOND ROUND pick himself! So in the end.....would you want to see the team lose the rest of this season, only to possibly see them continue losing?? |
The Saints have started Brooks for "YEARS. YEARS, DAMMIT." AND we continue to miss out on the play-offs. So, we can continue to do so, or we can go a different direction see what else happens.
No, a top draft pick does not guarantee a winning season, but neither does Aaron Brooks. |
Greenberg said it all
Mike Greenberg said it all this morning on the Mike and Mike show. He is an avid Jets fan and he was thrilled that the Saints won that game last night. He said and I quote "Would you rather wake up with a 2-9 team this morning or a 3-8 team this morning. You want the 2-9 team, because your team sucks either way, but with a 2-9 team you have a better chance of making the playoffs next year".

Can you honestly tell me if Brooks was QB of Denver right now, that they would not have a similar, or better, record than what they have right now with Plummer as their QB? If your answer is NO, then that should tell you whether we need to waste a first round pick on a QB or not. |
Wasting a first round pick, as you put it, on a Manning-quality pick is great decision in my book. I'm sure I'm not alone in that opinion. But don't take my word for it, ask the Giants. They gave up multiple picks for Eli, and it paid dividends for them in two years.

Are the Broncos a better team than the Saints? Yes. But don't give me this plug AB in Denver and they're better than their already very good record. It's all hypothetical and it is pure crap. Jump on the short bus with Euph and BnB.... |
