AWWWWW...Poor wittle SC's wont get their wittle Weinhart....

The SC's are the "so-called" Saints fans....those who are rooting against their so-called favorite team.

Anyway, we aren't getting Leinhart, and who freakin' cares!

Give Aaron Brooks time, and he will burn any defense's ass.

I'm all for change.....but the QB doesn't need to be changed.

Take your blood pressure medicine boys, and deal with it. Brooks is here to stay. Just wait till some of these people see him throw more TDs than Interceptions before the end of the season. They'll sure enough be livid.

RE: AWWWWW...Poor wittle SC

Say he does throw more td's then picks... who cares? Our record won't be better than .500 and we'll miss the playoffs for the 5th consecutive year with the same head coach and quarterback at the helm. Yet, you still don't think it's finally time for a change? If you think Brooks deserves to stay, then you obviously believe Haslett can get the job done also. 5 years... no playoffs... there are people that need to go. If you are one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the NFL, you need to perform like that for more than a couple of games out of the season.

Papz, why did you even dignify this drivel with a response? There are those of us obviously satisfied with mediocre, under-achieving teams, let them live in mediocre land while we hope for improvement by any means necessary. They'll be on the bandwagon championing the team should we get our way, and things work out for the better, as if they were there all along.

... well, the board seemed a kinder, gentler place since last night's cleansing, the you have to come up and screw it up with this post. Not only that, but kinda seems obvious this is a case of multiple accounts.

.. guess waiting all these weeks for Brooks to have a good game and "rub it in our faces" took its toll.. oh well..

Whoa whoa whoa....back up...

You act as though I'm rooting for the Saints to win simply so EVERYTHING will remain in place. I never once said that I wanted nothing to change. I said a change at QB was not necessary, and I stand by that.

As for your "bandwagon" statement......that is completely absurd. Someone who roots for their team, at all costs, is hardly a bandwagon jumper at all. Look up the definition.

Would I root for them if Leinhart did somehow become our QB? You're damn right I would, because the Saints are my team. I'd root for them if Leinhart was our QB, or if Vinny Testaverde was our Qb.

Now go ahead and wait for someone else to reply so you can jump right behind them with one of your cute little indirect posts towards me. I'd love to hear your explanation for your flawed "bandwagon" logic.

SC, nothing would please me more than to have MY TEAM win at the expense of those who claim to be fans...

yasoon 11-28-2005 10:36 AM

So, now Tobias is a "so-called" Saints fan? That's really brilliant.

If you were a fan of the team, you would realize that it is time to move beyond AB. Happy trails. I hope every GM in the league watched last night so they can get em a taste of our fool's gold.

And tobias, I'm not sure who you think the multiple ID is, but you can eliminate one by the fact that Gambler is familiar with the word "or". There is a genius on here who still uses "are" for that word.

TheDeuce 11-28-2005 12:21 PM

Excatly, sometimes the best thing for a team is to lose because losing brings about change. If we don't change, then we will stay exactly the same way. One good game doesn't mean that Brooks is that good every week and that he should stay. He is having an awful year, so one good game doesn't prove anything. The Rams aren't going to cut Bulger and start Fitzpatrick for the next five seasons because he had one good game against the Texans.

FrenzyFan 11-28-2005 12:35 PM

This whole post is a giant-sized dishonor. Even as I write this, I consider whether I SHOULD write it. Even with this doubt, I am of the belief that when someone sees something wrong and they have the ability to try and make it right, they then have the responsibility to make it right. Enough poetry...

It is simply astounding to me that because one fan disagrees with another about the team, this "SC" label is created. I happen to think pretty much as SW does on this matter. Not in all things do I agree with him, but I would call myself anti-Brooks. I would also call myself anti-Haslett, anti-Venturi, anti-Loomis, and anti-Benson, but I digress.

Through the many years of Saints football I've watched, they have seldom been good. Over their lifetime, they do not have a winning record. Long before there were message boards, they stunk. Year after year, through one losing season after another, the fans have been here. People like SW, yasoon, TR, BandB, Halo, Joesam, and thousands of others have stood by the Saints no matter how bad it got. How many Mondays have I spent in what can only be called depression over the play of my team? How many Sundays have I howled at the T.V., blamed the referees, cursed our defense, offense, QB, RBs, coaching, you-name-it?

Remember that year when the bag-heads became famous? I can think of no more harsh protest of our team than that. Sitting in the stands with my friends with a bag over my head, to show how much I wanted a change in my team. Why? Was I an "SC" because I wanted a change? Were those thousands of other people "SC"s? Do you know who filled the superdome every week in the years since? Those same people.

How dare anyone ever come to this board and play that card. I've read these guys on B&G for years now, and I can see their passion for this team. It runs as deep as my own, as does that desperate desire to see our team win the superbowl. I don't care how much I disagree with someone's opionion about this team. Anyone who roots for this "storied" franchise has EARNED the right to be critical of this team - they have the scars to prove it. There are NO "SC"S FOR THE SAINTS, and it's an insult to all of us to bring that here.

Just my opinion.

TheGambler 11-28-2005 12:51 PM

Anyone who would EVER root against their own team, for ANY reason, is an SC.

Period.

As for the bagheads...........nobody ever said that there is anything wrong with complaining when your team is doing poorly. Hey, at least the bagheads were at the game! And my gut feeling tells me they weren't rooting against their own team..

Exactly. Anyone who can stomach sitting through every game has a right to an opinion...agree or disagree.
Whodi and I disagreed last year on losing out. I saw his point, but I wanted them to backdoor the playoffs. There are 2 schools of thought...root for your team hell or highwater, or root for the greater good of what high draft picks bring versus drafting in the middle every year. Doeasn't always work or teams wouldn't be bad for so many years (Bengals, Browns, Cards all come to mind, though the Bengals are really putting it together with some great play at QB and a smart coach....2 things we need.)

Neither is right or wrong. Like I said earlier.....I tried to want Nugent to make that FG for the battle for high picks. I told my friend who is a Jets fan that we would not let them Lose...he laughed. Ultimately.....I was very nervous when Nuge lined up because I really wanted the Saints to win....however meaningless it may have been. That's just me. There may have been people on this board who wanted him to hit it because they want a top 3 pick...I can't question their fandom, they just see it differently.

The season is kinda like a battle...do you keep fighting when you know that you're done and lose MORE soldiers when you could regroup to fight another day? People who want the Saints to lose now are just pulling for us to regroup and start fresh in '06 with greater improvements. I happen to want us to fight till the last man.....it's just what is in my heart, that doesn't mean it's a better opinion

And that is the last time I will respond to a post by this author.

BlackandBlue 11-28-2005 01:17 PM

I remember the discussion last year, I was heavily involved.

Do I think that we would be better off going 2-14 than 8-8? Sure, but I cannot knowingly root for my team to lose. And since it really has no effect on the game, I will sit in the comfort of my home, and continue to root for them to win, even though in the back of my mind, I know we would be better off losing.

May not make any sense, but that is how I was built. Mark it down, this might be the only time you'll ever hear me agree with TheGambler.

Fitzpatrick- I remember me and saintswhodi both gave this guy a thumbs up during the draft, but if you told me that he would play against ANY NFL team during his rookie year, and on top of that, complete 63% of his passes, throw for 300+ yards, and three touchdowns....I would have called you a liar to your face. I watched some of the game, and some of the things he did (little things) impressed the hell out of me. Now, that being said, nobody had any game footage on this guy, but now they do. I do expect that his next few games won't go quite as well, but that is to be expected.

Synopsis: Give me the smart QB.

Yeah, and "I have a dream" that someday all the SC's will either see the light and become true fans, or find some other flavor-of-the-month team to root for.

BlackandBlue 11-28-2005 01:22 PM

I have a dream where I can come to a Saints board, free of namecalling and backhanded comments. A place where people throw their opinions out, but DON'T feel the need to push it on everyone else.

Hey, a guy can dream, can't he?

TheGambler 11-28-2005 01:25 PM

Fair enough.

See you guys in early January, right after the last game of the season. I'm now on 1-month hiatus.

yasoon 11-28-2005 01:26 PM

I've got one: "TB".

That's a TOOLBAG. A person who continually comes on a message board for the express reason of name calling, crap stirring, and general antagonism of fellow Saints fans.

The TB club now has 3 members.... I'm sure there will be more :)

And by the way....calling the Saints a flavor of the month is just laughable. You talk about a bandwagon that's hard to jump on..... There is no one anywhere that can be accused of jumping on this wagon.....it's full of snakes, turds, and broken glass.

That's exactly where I fall. I know we're better off losing, but I just can't root against the tards in Black and Gold.

TheDeuce 11-28-2005 02:09 PM

Last night when I was watching the game I was glad to see our team playing well, especially our offense. However, I do really want a good draft pick because I do think this team needs a lot of help, and the draft is the first place to start since obviously we are going to have a very difficult time signing free agents this offseason. But, even though I want a high draft pick, it wasn't like I was rooting against the Saints, I guess I was just indifferent, or probably to be more accurate: I was happy with either outcome because a loss helps us in the draft and a win is a win. I'm sure some other guys felt that way; that either outcome was good, and it was probably less outright rooting for the Jets.

Can't we just get along! Hey everyone isl entitled to their opinion and I won't call names anymore I promise. Well, unless you say something so stupid that someone calls you stupid first, then I will be glad to chime in.
I am also one of those who thinks it best that we lose and that's my opinion and I'm stickin to it.

PUNK ALERT!!!

DaFan 12-01-2005 08:49 PM

I'm pulling for the Saints to win every game, but the way this season has progressed, I'm definitely not as upset at this point in the season when they lose. With every win they win the remainder of the season, all it does is trick people into thinking they're better that they are at the expense of dropping our draft position. As for Leinert, I wouldn't want him if we have the 1st pick anyway - that pick should be spent on Reggie Bush. Then (hopefully) in the 2nd round we could get Jay Cutler. AB has had his chance for 5 seasons, and wether it's all his fault or not, the only thing this offense has done consistently with him at the helm is be mediocre. Let him get a fresh start somewhere else (hopefully with the coaching staff).
