It's very interesting....there is another Saints board that I just lurk on where there are still alot of AB supporters. Not the kind of poo slingers that we have on here, but people with well stated (but wrong) opinions on AB. One guy even said that he knows AB is good by watching film, which I just don't get.....but you know what they say about opinions.
I even watched Hasslebeck, who I'm not a fan of, on Monday. The difference between his 3 step drop and AB's was noticeable. He got the ball out of there in the flow of the play. As most of us know, many of the "west coast"plays call for specific timing. To me, that is the biggest issue....those 1-2 seconds where AB freezes when his first read isn't open. He then either forces it, turns and spins around, dumps to a check down guy for 2 yards, or makes the throw. I'm not trying to bash the dude, but it really it is time. For those who think scenery will help a veteran with low football IQ, more power to you. I really wish we could see AMAC Monday. But, AB gives us the best chance to win according to our coach. |

I agree with coach, that AB gives the Saints their best chance at winning on Monday Night. But let's get real. All that is left to this season is draft positioning. The Saints should fall anywhere between 3 and 7 in the draft, why not take a look at AMAC. If nothing else, let's see if this kid can at least compete for the primary backup spot for the 06 season. Maybe Haz, trying to save his job is the reason for going with Brooks? Who knows. At least Brooks is streaky enough that he could win out in the last month. Does 7-9 keep Haz and Brooks onboard for 06? Hopefully not, but maybe so. On the other hand, 3-13, 4-12, or even 5-11 pretty much closes the books on both of them. We shall find out...
