Brooks/Coaches
Brooks problems is directly linked to the coaching staff. Brooks does not go through his progressions (reads) like he should. His instincts are shot! This is a direct link to the coaching. They forced Brooks to be in the pocket and tried to make him a pocket passer WHICH TOOK HIM OUT OF HIS GAME. This coaching staff just kills me! They don’t have the plays that utilize his strengths at all. This coaching staff is player killers! Brooks has all the tools but the right one that will get him to where he needs to be and ultimately the team and it’ COACHING. But don’t be surprised next year if Brooks is still hear along with the same coaching staff. Coaches like Parcells, Belichick, Coughlin, Saban that run a tight ship, would have benched Brooks a long time ago. Does anyone remember how Coughlin dealt with Tiki fumbling issues, how Belichick made the decision to go with Brady and jetted Bledsoe, these are decisions a coach just has to make. You put Brooks with a hard line coach and you will see a different player. And somehow with all that has happened we will see the same play next year!!!!!!!

RE: Brooks/Coaches
Please tell me what strengths Brooks possesses. The QB position is ALL about making decisions and being able to execute those decisions. You can't coach smarts (after the age of 10), just like you can't coach speed. You either are smart and disciplined or you aren't.
Don't equate holding a football with defensive reads, audibles, route reads and assessing the kind of pass trajectory for a particular defense. That's just embarrasing. |

RE: Brooks/Coaches
It's the coaches fault that Brooks fumbles, throws int's and makes very bad decisions on the field? Glad you filled me in, I never thought of it that way before? Probably never will again.

RE: Brooks/Coaches
The whole team sucks, except me. I'm the only bright spot on the entire team...Would like to add, when you consider that your defense is playing better, look at whom they faced prior to saying that they have in fact improved. playing better against lessor, means you still are bad Haslett hasn't figured that one out in 5 years. J.Carney for Govenor of Louisiana... |

RE: Brooks/Coaches
Getting back to the original post, Brooks chooses to be a pocket passer. He openly admitted that he hates to run. Maybe the coaches gave him the idea, but he took the mile (so-to-speak). He wants to be a pocket passer, period.
By the time a quarterback gets to the NFL, a coach should not have to teach him fundimentals. He should just be handed a play book to learn. The biggest mistake that the coaching staff has made with Aaron Brooks is keeping him on the roster. |
