Saints | Haslett to step down? Wed, 14 Dec 2005 16:46:11 -0800 Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports New Orleans Saints head coach Jim Haslett is expected to step down at the end of the season and has recently asked team owner Tom Benson to fire him. According to the Associated Press, Haslett said he has not discussed whether he will return as the team's coach in 2006. He added he would like to determine his contract status before the end of the season. According to Haslett, he has not talked with Benson about any of it.
