this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I am going to go with Patrick Ramsey on this scenario. Saints will most likely opt to trade Brooks to either Arizona or Oakland and get a pick for it and then spend a pick on Ramsey on draft day ...

Ramsey would definitely be a Louisiana sentimental favorite....Ruston High and Tulane grad. He is in a system that really hasn't had all the weapons for him to flourish. It will just be interesting to see if the Saints receiving corps will still be intact after the season is over. Isn't Stallworth a free agent? Horn showed signs of aging this season. Devery Henderson started to come around, but can he make that next step to be a number two or three receiver? Still lots of questions to be answered, but I can honestly say that I wouldn't mind seeing Ramsey in a Saints uniform next year. I still want Leinart, though.

With signs of aging, Horn still outplayed every other receiver on the roster. He's getting old, but all that means is that he may no longer be our #1 guy anymore. I'd hate to let Joe go any time soon. He's still getting open and making plays, which is more than I can say for the rest of the receivers. Horn has a lot of heart and passion for this team and city. He may move down on the depth chart, but I'd hate to see him leave the roster.
Maybe with better coaches, Stallworth will finally acheive his potential. However, he still remains as a non-factor. Maybe with a quarterback change, things will be different. I don't think Henderson should remain after this year, but the Saints will probably think otherwise. I think he had his chance and it's just not working here. I'd also strive to get Pathon back. It might sound crazy, but I always thought very highly of him. He was always getting KILLED over the middle, but still coming down with the catch. Just wondering, but since everyone is so high on Leinhart, is their anyone that wants to see Young in a Saint's uniform? |

I'd be happy with a lot of different scenarios. I've seen Leinert play several times, and though I'm scared of the Ryan Leif #2 possibility, I think I'd have to take him. What I like most about him is the leadership he shows on the field. He also throws the ball with great touch, seems like the ball lands softly when it needs to.
I'm sure Shaub will not get out of Atlanta, but I wouldn't mind getting him or Ramsey. I'm not big on Kerry Collins or McNair. Above all, though, I'd like to see McPhereson play before this year is over. I think we need to see what he's got. |

... you have to ask yourself one question:
Have you ever seen the back of Leinart's uniform dirty? You always hear "if he had time to throw, he'd disect any defense".. hey, I can disect any defense with 7-8 seconds to throw the ball... |

I wouldn't mind seeing Young in a Saints uniform. My preference is definitely Leinart, but Young wouldn't be a bad option. I just hope that Leinart wouldn't become a Kyle Boller and Young an Akili Smith. Then again, that would be our luck. As far as Henderson is concerned, it is only his 2nd year. He did nothing his first year, but I thought he did fairly decent this year considering it was his first to see significant playing time. I think he'll be back, because he can definitely be a weapon with that speed. I'm not taking anything away from Joe Horn. I didn't say that I wanted him gone, but I think he is definitely on the decline. If he comes back with a strong season next year, then I'll eat the all-famous B-n-G crow. I just have a feeling he won't be the consistent first option in the passing game next year.

Wow Oldies, you're giving up on Henderson already? It's only his second season in the league. First rounders like Jenkins in ATL, Williams in Jax, etc... still hasn't developed either. Look how long it took for Horn, Javon Walker, and other receivers in this league to establish themselves. It's way to early to talk about not having Henderson on this team. Actually from what he's done last year and this year, he's improved a great deal. In fact in my opinion, he's been quite impressive in the time he's actually been on the field.
On Pathon... that's okay. He's no better than a 4th receiver now. Seattle promoted their practice squad receiver and he's out played Pathon by far. Is he even on a team anymore? |

Whatever happens, they must find a way to get first round talent into the LB corps, NOW. With Leinart, or without him. I'd support a Leinart pick, if you guys keep convincing me - but only as long as that happens too. |

I think Pathon would play better if he were a Saint again.
As far as Henderson goes, you guys are right. Maybe I jumped on him a bit too early. We'll just wait and see. All in all, I still believe our receiving corps is one of the best in the league. |
