What we need most is.....
What we need most is a real, quality General Manager. The only times, and I stress the word "only", that we have ever been successful as a franchise, is when we have had a quality GM. Not when we've had a Hall of Fame coach (Ditka), a stud QB (Manning), or one of the "most talented" teams. There have only been two, count them - two, successful periods in the Saints almost 40-year history. The late '80's and early '90's, when Jim Finks was at the helm, and the beginning of this decade, when Mueller was in charge. Isn't it ironic that the only successful times that we have had can be directly tied to when we had a quality GM?

If we had a real owner, discussing a quality GM would be a moot point.

. . . for 08 and diva to just do it and get it over with.
New ownership would really be a plus here. Not sure if I think giving the team to Rita is a great idea though. The Bradshaw group really interests me. |

I totally agree with getting a quality GM. On the player side, I could only imagine what a very good MLB could do for the defense. The defense stepped up a little once McKinnon was inserted into the starting lineup. Too bad he has seen his better days and no longer in his prime. A McKinnon or Zach Thomas type in their prime could make the defense pretty special.
