Bentley to test free agant market ???
Bentley is expected to seek a contract similar to the one the Carolina Panthers gave free-agent guard Mike Wahle last year to lure him from the Green Bay Packers. Wahle reportedly signed a five-year deal worth up to $28 million with $11.5 million in bonuses.
Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said the Saints will "just have to wait and see what happens" with Bentley, whom he expects will "surely test the market." The team is unlikely to consider placing a franchise tag on Bentley, because then they would have to pay him the average salary of the top five offensive linemen in the league at any position -- including the high-priced left tackles. The Saints talked with Bentley's agent, Peter Schaffer, last offseason about signing him to a long-term deal, but Loomis said the talks were a long way apart. http://www.nola.com/saints/t-p/index...9745277260.xml |

Show him the money, for god sakes. We finally replaced Turley. We are still looking for a replacement for giving Roaf away. Benson wont spend because he wants to the taem to be loosers resulting in poor attendence. That is why he has sh-t canned the front office. bye charles it has been fun but we are not out to win till we relocate.

even without the hurricane we would've loss bentley. said to be the best ol on the free agent market this year, saints wouldn't have matched any offer regardless of a hurricane.

if you think that you should be drug tested. they have already said that won't happen, if they franchised him he'd have to be paid within the top 5 ol in the game.think about that. |

um, i think you're going under the assumption that a deal would be made after he was franchised. like the deal that was made after howard was franchised. don't hate the messenger hate the paper it's written on. |
