New Draft Order.....

Even if the Jets lose to the Patriots they will still have a higher SOS than us. The 49ers already have alot higher SOS, as Houston does. So if we lose and Houston wins next week. Guess what we get?

THE NUMBER ONE PICK!!!!!!!

RE: New Draft Order.....

We'll I'd never root for a lost, but that would be nice. But 2nd would be nice too.

CheramieIII 12-24-2005 05:29 PM

RE: New Draft Order.....

I would love to have the first pick and see who would give up their entire draft for the first spot. Damn that would feel good.

I'd root for a loss...
Feel terrible for the players though. That's what gets me the most, I don't care if they are multi-millionaires.

pakowitz 12-24-2005 05:56 PM

RE: New Draft Order.....

they havent played for anyone but themselves this year...they dont want to be in new orleans ..... they deserve to be called the worst team in football at the moment.. and they should lose... cuz they all suck....

BoudinSandwich 12-24-2005 07:11 PM

RE: New Draft Order.....

I believe they should give a good showing and play hard, but still lose at the end. Lose with pride...on...purpose.

pakowitz 12-24-2005 07:17 PM

RE: New Draft Order.....

lol......... lose with pride.. on ..purpose... thats classic....

RE: New Draft Order.....

Where is the strength of schedule listed for each team? If we get the number one pick I hope we have a new coaching staff to go along with it.

Ok, I hope we have a new front office and coaching staff even if we don't get the number one.

AllSaints 12-24-2005 11:20 PM

CheramieIII 12-24-2005 11:36 PM

RE: New Draft Order.....

No All Saints I like the tgrade for more drafts picks scenario.

pakowitz 12-25-2005 12:05 AM

RE: New Draft Order.....

well everyone knows that bush is going to be the top pick so we draft him and trade him to the highest bidder most likely the texans or 49ers 2 n 3 respectively who ever has more to offer.... both have qbs that they pretty much cant get rid of atm carr and smith... n both would love to have bush 49ers would need him more... close to home guy and he would sell alot of tickets n jerseys for them... but either way i would have to ask for a first this year an one next year ala SD-NYG trade from a few years ago.....

CheramieIII 12-25-2005 11:09 AM

Hey UK, glad to see ya posting. I tend to agree with ya but my heart says that Bush is going to be one of those special players in NFL history. One of those players that can carry a team without a great QB and that's what we are going to have, a no good QB.

Winwin 12-25-2005 11:29 AM

but with us looking to hold the number 2 pick. that puts us out of the chance to take bush, and leinart being the next choice, since number 2 is too high take aj.hawk.

CheramieIII 12-25-2005 12:15 PM

Hey Win, I hear you and yes we have the number 2 pick right now BUT, as ESPN reported if we lose, which we will because Tampa Bay is trying to make the playoffs and if Houston wins which they should we will get the, say it with me now:

THE NUMBER ONE PICK IN THE DRAFT!

:band:

Winwin 12-25-2005 12:23 PM

i understand you now. but with having the 1st pick, and benson making it known financially he can't even pay haz, the contract ext. he had promised him what does that mean as far as can we actually pay the signing bonus that a 1st pick will require?

CheramieIII 12-25-2005 12:31 PM

Haz, AB, Howard are all gone, freeing up alot of extra cash for the number one. If we trade Deuce for a QB, we will save alot more.

BUSH FOR PRESIDENT, REGGIE THAT IS!!!!!!

And that is one of the reasons why

The other reason is that every year we say fix this, OR fix that.
And it turns out we shoulda fix this AND that.

So we trade off that future Pro Bowler Bush - who may do an Eli and say he ain't coming to New Orleans anyway - and we mix it up a bit with:
some talented lower draft - every year they make out, and
some free agents with a grudge, those who had great work ethic but was not always a starter.

We are now looking for new leaders (or are we just looking for leaders for the firat time???).[/u]

UK_WhoDat 12-25-2005 12:36 PM

And yes Mon ami. Bush is t h e B U S I N E S S. He could carry any team

This will be the first year in 6 that we have decided to actually look at QB as a problem. That in itself is worth two or three wins, the defense has been better this year than they had been in a while.

You don't pass on Leinart. No way, no how. Bush isn't even on our radar. Hello, Deuce McAllister. I am sure people generally line up around the block to take a former pro bowler who just blew out his knee, but let's say they don't. We just gave Deuce a new deal. UNTRADEABLE at this point. We have to take Leinart.

UK_WhoDat 12-25-2005 02:58 PM

Fair Enough whodi

I like Leinart. I believe he can deliver, although almost everyone (who aren't WhoDats) think he is a bust.

Deuce was my man - his statuette sits proudly on my television.

(But now "Manimal" is the man. Have to go with who gave me some excitement this year - and that is Will Smith).

The debate will run.......... There's many good solutions......... and only 1 best one.

You maybe right whodi.

If we get #1 pick, and say 49ers get #2, then we provoke 49ers into a trade where we still get your man Leinart plus ????

Please tell me who is saying that. He is the consensus number one pick if Bush doesn't coem out, and two since he will. He graded out as number one over all last year, and Kiper is grading him out higher than Eli and Carson Palmer. Dude is the real deal.

That is a GREAT idea. Talk up taking Bush or something, see if they bite. I don't know if they will, but it won't hurt to try. They are definitely not taking Leinart, so we have to be careful with trade downs. Let's say the team at #3 wants Bush, and we trade there. The 49ers could screw us by letting someone who wants Leinart trade into the number two spot. So if we are first, if the number two team doesn't offer something to move that one spot, we take Leinart there and don't risk it IMO.

Yeah, ask Barry Sanders how that worked out for him. Look, going with Bush certainly can't hurt the Saints by any means, but this franchise has drafted only one quarterback in the first round in their history (A. Manning). I know they gave away their #1 for Dave Wilson in the supp. draft, but I'm talking about actually using their first round pick on draft day for a franchise quarterback. You build the offense around Leinart and a running game. Don't ask Leinhart to carry the offense on his back, instead ask him to manage it. If you are going to trade any picks, trade the second round pick for more picks, get a linebacker in the second, and they have got to get a decent backup running back in the third. Just my opinion.

SEmerone 12-26-2005 02:01 PM

I WOULD LOVE THAT NUMBER ONE PICk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trade it for # 3 or #4 and draft AJ HAWK and more picks!!!!!!

The fundamental problem with trading down for more picks is the fact that the Saints have Mickey Loomis still pulling the trigger on how they use the picks. Now he's done a fairly decent job in the first round (with the possible exception of Sullivan, which is debatable). There is only one team that has two first round picks this year (Denver), and they don't need a running back or a quarterback, so now you are looking at something like some teams first and second this year, and a pick next year. What has Loomis done in the second round? He's drafted backups and projects while consistenly passing up better talent year after year. I say if they get lucky and get the first pick in the draft, I hope they keep it and use it. That way, they are almost forced by peer pressure to take someone worth drafting.

i would like to share my input on your comments, if you are just going to get a qb, to simply manage the offense and not having to rely on him to carry the team. we might as well keep the moron we have on the bench now. he's been asked to carry this team for his entire time, and he can't do it. now you want to get the so-called franchised qb in leinart pay the 14 million in guaranteed money, and then say don't depend on him to carry the team?

First, I don't think you ever put a rookie quarterback in a position to carry the offense, franchise-type or not. Second, the "moron" that we have on the bench needs to learn how to step up in the pocket, read defenses, make quick decisions, and be a better leader before he can manage a game, much less carry an offense. I believe that Leinart has the ability to do those things, so yes, I would pay him 14 million to do the things that the "moron" couldn't accomplish in the past six years. Third, it's pretty obvious to me that it takes more than someone who can hand the ball off, and make a few passes here and there in order to be an EFFECTIVE game manager. I've heard and read that Leinart is a "system" quarterback, that he's a product of being surrounded by so much talent. Well, Brooks is supposedly "surrounded" with talent, yet he can't seem to get the "talent" to perform until they are down by two touchdowns. My point being is that you have to have the ability to use the talent around you to the best of your abilities to win the game. I don't think that Matt Leinart will ever tell his head coach that he refuses to throw a hail mary right before halftime because it may hurt his stats. It's a frame of mind thing, it's the "it" factor. Like it or not, Leinart has "it." And as a Saints' fan, I wouldn't have one problem paying 14 million for "it"

if you are giving a 14 million dollar signing bonus to someone that means, "rookie" are not if he has "it" then he will be able to show "it" from day 1. like peyton manning. no excuses, win are get ridiculed just like the other moron. no excuses about dropped passes, porous defense just win period.

What was Peyton's record as a rookie? What was Troy Aikman's? And you are right, if he has "it" he wil show "it" from day one.

As far as the other comment, go see the Carolina-Saints game a few years back when Delhomme had to come in and throw a hail mary at the end of the half, while Brooks was heading towards the lockerroom.

pakowitz 12-26-2005 07:45 PM

look guys... if we do get the 1st pick.. and are looking to shop it.. then it really all depends on who iss where after us... say its NO #1 49ers #2 Htown #3 who will be 4 5 n 6? we know the 49ers dont want a qb and we know htown cant afford another qb so they will be forced to either trade up for bush or down for more picks... b/c we know the Jets wil be interested in bush and or a qb so they will be lookin to move up... lets see who else...green bay will want bush... and oakland.... lord knows they need a qb bad... so it all depends on who will want to give up the most to move up b/c most of these teams will be looking to get either leinert or young....

ooOh i remember a false rumor that was portrayed on this forum, that the moron brooks didn't want to throw the hailmary pass, was reported by kenny forgot his last name prior to him going inside with the team. he came back after halftime and said that wasn't what happened? if we are gonna spread information on someone at least make it factual. if that had really happened, first i doubt the moron haslett would've stood for it, secondly the nfl and media would've picked up on it. since you are the only person in 2 1/2 years to re-bring it up that tells me nothing ever happened.

dude, don't get ticked. the sideline reporter said he thought something, and went into the lockerroom and found out what he thought didn't happen. again something like that would've been picked up by every media outlet in the free world had that truly happened. what links, past articles interviews do you have that says this happened?

i know exactly where you got it from, and the reporter corrected himself evidently you didn't hear that part.
