Carroll signs extension!!!!
I guess the thought of Carroll coaching the Saints in LA is out the window, but the don't say for how long but I would bet it's probably 7 to 10 years:
Pete Carroll agrees to contract extension with USC By JOHN NADEL, AP Sports Writer December 28, 2005 LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Pete Carroll, who coached Southern California from mediocrity to dominance since being hired in 2001, agreed to a contract extension with the school. Neither Carroll nor USC athletic director Mike Garrett would provide specifics of the deal. "We love what Pete is doing here," Garrett said in a statement issued late Wednesday. "He does a great job of winning games and graduating players. Pete wants to be at USC as long as he can and we want him here, too." http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news;_...v=ap&type=lgns |

...just because a coach gets an extension, it doesn't mean he cannot quit at any time, or get himself fired, for that matter...

Hey Reiper, so I guess you're of the opinion that Carroll could be the coach of the Saints in LA. I've got a whole lot of land in south Louisiana and I really do, that I would like to talk to you about. Got some good crayfish on it.

Not knowing anything about contract specifics, but I would guess he has an clause to opt out for the NFL if he wishes. Just guessing on this, do not know this for a fact.
