RE: Re: You make the pick?
i want leinart. draft leinart baby:
1)leinart-usc qb. 2)safety 3)lb 4)de 5)fb 6)te 7)athlete that should be enough to at the worst playoffs and at best superbowl baby. there will be no more behind the wr's passes. no more int's, no more losses cause leinart will be in a saints uniform. i can't wait to see him... |

RE: Re: You make the pick?
As much as I would love to get a franchise qb in this year's draft, that may not be what is best for New Orleans.
Let me explain. We have no idea where the Saints will be playing beyond the 2006 season. We are going to have to sell out nearly every game next year to show the NFL that this region can still support the team. If we are not winning, then I just don't see that happening. That's why I'm not sure if drafting Leinart is the right thing. If the Saints draft Leinart, they are almost guaranteed to have a losing season. This will probably lead to poor game attendance, which will justify (in the league's point of view) moving the team. In other words: Drafting Leinart = Saints leaving LA for L.A. That is why I say we should draft A.J. Hawk. He will make an immediate impact on this team. I honestly believe the run defense could jump from 27th in the NFL to top fifteen, if not better, simply because of his presence in the middle. Combine drafting Hawk with a new coaching staff and a quality veteran qb (I say Kitna), and this is a playoff contender. Of course, I could be completely wrong. |

Winwin, when you quote someone, you generally want to type your own comments outside of the quote box. Unless, of course, you're making some lame attempt at being witty.
