Brees out, Rivers in.

Well it looks like Drew Brees was knocked out of the game against Denver with a shoulder injury and will not return. Looks like a nasty one too. Depending on how well Rivers plays, and the severity of Brees' injury, this could affect which player we pick in the first round. If Brees isn't hurt too badly, and Rivers does play well, I say we trade our 2007 first round pick for Rivers.

If Brees' injury is too severe, San Diego will go with Rivers next year anyways. Brees will be a free agent after the season, if I'm not mistaken. Or did he sign for more than one year? The Chargers won't want to put themselves into a situation like the Jets have with Chad Pennington, so they'll hang on to Rivers. Brees will probably be in a new uniform next year.

With or without the Brees injury.... Me thinks the Chargers would do most anything to keep Rivers.

Brees injury, even if not severe, will probably up the anty for any team wanting Rivers. Interesting that Brees injury brings all sorts of possibilities for Rivers and the Chargers.

The "timing" of Brees injury will make the off-season interesting for Brees, Rivers and the Chargers - something to watch.

Just a thought.
