this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; again, dreaming is fine at nightime. but please wake-up. we are dealing with tom benson after a year in which he didn't make any money. the only candidates will be inexperienced in actually being a head coach, someone on the ...

what do you guys think, he got fired because the Saints already have a replacement in mind? I know this team a little and I can't believe they'd let him go unless they had someone in their heads who they talked to.
Gary Kubiak fits that mold. Jimmy Johnson and others wouldn't be so interested in coaching for Tom Benson. It's going to have to be an up and coming guy which will be cheap for Benson and that combines with a nice first round selection and the Dome is a guarentee sell out. I already tried to call Arturo the ticket broker to re-up my tickets. I'm sold! |

Well i was wronge i thought they would keep him for PR reasons and the choas next year will have. The mess here will make it hard to get a good coach i think. There is no stability in this team's front office and an owner that is hated. God only knows who the fool will be. But i am betting Tom will use this to strengthen his move out of NO. I want an offensive head coach!

Mike Tice....another perrenial under-achiever. How many of his teams choked down the stretch? If we could have co-head coaches, I'd take Tice for the first half of the season ONLY. That's normally when his Viking teams were at their best, excluding this season. Then hire someone else for the 2nd half. I'm not sold on Tice. Minnesota had more talent than the Saints, IMO, and he couldn't do anything with it.

Supposedly, Pete Carroll is sticking his name in the hat for NFL head coaching jobs. How nice would it be to get Carroll, draft Leinhart & let him start in a system he already knows & is comfortable with. It would definately be nice to give your rookie QB a system he already knows. And I would definately say that Carroll is an effective offensive coach with NFL experience.
