I have read with great interest you assertion that the Saints should either select or trade down to select AJ Hawk. You may be right, but here is my proposition to you.

I will bet a case of Dixie beer the Saints will not select Hawk with their 2nd pick in the first round. Likewise, if they trade the 2nd pick, Hawk will not be their first round pick!

Are you up for the bet?

Keep up the good information.

Bet on, I love me some Dixie Beer. That was the first beer I ever got drunk on at age 12.

On a side note, directed towards Cher: Why you so sold on this trade down? I guess it would improve some other areas of the team, but why are you so sold on it?

You got it i can get vodoo here so i just raised you that if they do not get AJ they go for D'Brickashaw Ferguson or Haloti Ngata. But I am putting my money on shock by what ever Mickey mouse does in the end. I go to houston a good bit so a stop over to drink your beer on a sunday watch in saints and talking about how we blew another draft.

We have all got into the argument over the last few years about the Saints drafting defense because we need it. Our defense is only a couple of players away from being one of the best in the NFL and if we can get a QB out of a trade down or 3 or 4 more picks this year we can certainly pick up a good veteran QB that can hold us over until our drafted QB from this year is ready or AMAC steps up. I do not think that Benson wants to spend the money on Matt and probably won't even if I did like the pick.

I think that you guys give our Corners to much credit. I think that the D is a good ways away from being really good. they need 3 LBs 2 CBs and at least one DT

RE: CheramieIII

Y really think we are only 1 linebacker and 1 DT away, once you can get some pressure on the QB and take some of the secondary the will be fine. If we can get this 2 key positions along with a QB in the draft, veteran QB by trade and offensive line the rest of the way we will be fine. Does anyone think the Bears offense strikes fear in any opponent? I think not and we have a little bit better offense already then they do.

RE: CheramieIII

Any of these would make me happy as long as we move slowly down the board.
Hodge, Abdul, ILB Iowa
Wright, Rodrique, DT Texas
Williams, Jimmy, CB Virginia Tech
Scott, Jonathan, OT Texas
Jean-Gilles, Max, OG Georgia
Vernon Davis TE Maryland
see i am flexable

You need two tight ends and right now we have to much dead wood at that position. Ernie, Hilton, Hall and then Davis. Pope is a beast, love to have him but mickey mouse does not put money into that position. I think Davis MAY go before Lewis anyways. Davis could be the best all around TE in the draft. but at 6-3, 250 lbs he may slip. He would be a great value if he does

I dont want to go ga ga over hilton yet either. I thought that Boo looked good at first. Lets see if he can do it for an entire year.

hagan714 01-08-2006 10:26 PM

RE: CheramieIII

If we move down 3 or 4 times he would be great. But the list was in oder of who i would go after by trading down There is so much talent this year at positions we need in the top 3 rounds i can not with-stand the thought of adding healthy young depth on our team.

sarge06 01-08-2006 10:29 PM

RE: CheramieIII

no I would be disappointed with a TE pick.

CheramieIII 01-08-2006 11:08 PM

RE: CheramieIII

No TE's I like Hilton and Boo can back him up.

hagan714 01-08-2006 11:14 PM

RE: CheramieIII

Trade boo. he can not block and even at his best he will drop as many passes as donte

hagan714 01-08-2006 11:16 PM

RE: CheramieIII

Besides if we slide that far down man think of all the picks this year and next. that is why i could stomach it

CheramieIII 01-08-2006 11:17 PM

RE: CheramieIII

Just a backup only or yes trade him but I don't think you'll get much.

hagan714 01-09-2006 12:19 AM

RE: CheramieIII

I do not think you get much out of him either way. I would love to see him prove me wronge.
