Good Interveiw Halo . . . Interesting comments on Duece that I don't think we, on the board, have given any thought to. Of course so much will depend on the new HC. I just Loomis doesn't make one the famous Saint knee jerk decisions in the selection. Seemingly all of the ones interviewed were not turned off by the Katrina adversity, so we don't have to settle on one that may not fit the teams needs. Again good interview!

You know it sounds heartless but I'm concerned about Deuce's career. Don't get me wrong he is still my favorite Saint. But if this is a business we may need to see if we can get anything for him now. He's injured every year now and I don't see that stopping.

I think there are some quality QB's on the free agency market. I also think we should look at them before Vince Young or Leinart. But to be honest I don't think we will have a chance at Bush because Houston's pretty much already taken him in my mind.

I agree with ya Halo, I can't see keeping Deuce for another year, another injury just to end up with nothing. That's what we did with AB and we are going to be lucky to trade him straight up for another veteran QB. The Lions, Raiders, Dolphins or Bengals would be ripe for a change.

I definitely think we would be better served to take Hawk and a second round QB then taking a chance on Leinart or Young. I really don't think there will be a next year if we don't win next year.

If the Saints trade Deuce away why not try and make a trade with the Texans for D. Davis?, I feel Davis is an all purpose back and would give our offense more options compared to Deuce, I agree with Halo when talking about if Deuce was to get injured again, if he was to get hurt again next year or never get back 100% to where he was before this injury than I agree that his stock would drop off to a point that we may not get nearly for him as we could this years

There is no reason to even think about trading Deuce, as he has very little trade value. Best thing is to hope his knee gets better, and that he is able to contribute to the Saints in 2006.

HALO YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CRAZY IF U THINK ABOUT TAKING REGGIE BUSH WHEN WE HAVE DEUCE!!! HE'S OUR FRANCHISE BACK!!

Seriously though too many people on here still see the Deuce of 2003. Now two years, one half played season, a 7 year contract and a torn ACL later they expect that same RB. I just don't see it.

Halo you are right. Sometimes we as fans get attached to players, but you have to treat it like a business. It seems as if Deuce has become a liability. He can never stay healthy for an entire season, when so many other runningbacks in this league can. You start to wonder if it's a toughness issue(except for the ACL this year) or if he's simply injury prone. In either case, he's not someone we can ride for more than a couple more years. Like I said if we had Reggie Bush fall to us, we would be fools to not take him unless we got a King's ransom to trade for. Other than that we should definitely look to some youth via the draft and I believe the new coach will do that, the same way that Haz brought Deuce in when Ricky was here. I think a new coach will want his own RB to mold. If there was a way we could get LenDale White that would be perfect. He'll be the best every-down back in the draft this year.

Duce is a big ? next year i agree but he does not have value on the market just as AB does not right now. AB has more believe it or not alot of expert put the blame on the suffling of the OL over the years and the penilties from that unit. The best trade bait this year is donte.
Back to Duce the addition of Bush would make the LB spread out more and reduce the pounding Duce has taken over the last 3 years. Defenses dare us to beat them with the pass. They know they can get to AB with our line. So they just key on the guy. He is not like the BUS. Besides i like LenDale until the OL becomes a unit.
