the obvious
this is a very touchy subject, but i feel it needs to be said simply because post after post i read, where a reference is made to this. aaron brooks has not been released yet and as has been reported by the times pic it will be the incoming coaches decision whether to keep brooks, and brooks's decision to stay if it involves a cut in pay.
if for one minute someone would think a coach(any coach) wouldn't want the chance to work with the guy, and see if they can correct what the previous staff did wrong with the guy, you're smoking something other than the behind the counter brand. most of the problem with him has been fired, now i know how deep the hatred for brooks goes, but as bentley pointed out in his candid conversation and turley in his candid conversation in the ongoings inside the lockerroom, and frontoffice about the true cancers on the team. the usual brooks haters brushed both reports off with ease. my feelings are the guy will be given every chance to stay, probably at a reduced price, as has been discussed here in texas on the radio shows brooks could start right now for at least half the league and with the few fans here asking for the likes of volek? someone the titans won't even consider for their own starting job(that says a lot), k.collins(brooks would start for the raiders with collins still there, nuff said), griese(same as collins). could see the same situation that happened in san diego, the starter that was about to be let go, the team drafts a rookie high and so the story goes. a subtle change like cleaning house of worthless coaches makes everything better. |

RE: the obvious
Overall, good points win. I, like many people, just assume that AB will be gone. But nothing is decided until he's actually gone.
I hope to see Brooks gone, but until he is laughing on somebody else's sideline, we can't get to far ahead of ourselves. |

RE: the obvious
I wonder if AB's phone has rung once since the end of the season. If it hasn't, then it's because either people know he'll be cut and won't have to deal with his contract, or it's because he sucks moose weenie.
If I were him, I'd ask for a restructuring of the contract. At least I'd have a job next year in NO if they wanted me. Otherwise, it's beans and WEENIES for the Brooks brood. |

Ok, I guess I'll say it... whats wrong with going with Brooks trading down in the draft and going Oline and D. Give him a chance under a new coach, using our pics wisely trading down for more pick. It won't matter who we have at QB if we can't protect him or run block for Deuce. We need to work on the lines...
