talk about a conundrum....
i honestly am at a standstill about what we should do at #2... do we take leinart? do we take young? do we trade down and draft some other position (ferguson, hawk, ryans, lendale white, ngata, etc.)? i'm interested in ya'lls opinion on this matter... if i were loomis, i'd probably entertain offers from other teams looking to trade up, but if they fall short of spectacular, go ahead and draft leinart over young... i feel that young is the 2nd best athlete in this year's draft and will be a good quarterback, but leinart comes in from day one as a starter and can contribute in a major way, even as a leader in the clubhouse... of course, this is only my opinion, and of course we all know how much benson just loves to pay for quality players...

RE: talk about a conundrum....
I think we should trade down personally unless Bush is there at 2, in which case we should either take him or trade the pick. We probably will take Leinart though, which i'm not totally opposed to. The guy will be a rookie though. He won't come in on day 1 and be putting up good numbers. It just doesn't work like that for NFL rookie QBs 99 out of 100 times. He probably won't even put up better numbers than Brooks this year. He will be good in time, but his rookie year he will struggle, which is why we should get an NFL QB vet if we pick Leinart up to soften the transition for him.

RE: talk about a conundrum....
I just don't think I can reasonably predict what is going to happen until more happens in free agency...for now I think Kiper's mock draft is pretty realistic...But I also think that the mock draft that was posted last week was pretty interesting with NO trading down to 18 with Dallas to take Cutler...Wait till free agency is over to see what is going to happen...

Trade down get several extra picks and Hawk at the #4 or with Oakland and get Cutler. The with the second pick either Jacobs if we get Hawk or Sims, Wroten or DQwell if we get Cutler.

Tade down take the extra pics to many areas we need to improve and bring in some fresh blood. Grabbing one of the QB's will actually make us worse for longer time. We have no line to protect, we have no D. Trade, Trade Trade.
