RE: Re: RE: Re: Reciever can help offensive woes
Yeah, but he might possibly be. Vernon and Mercedes Lewis from UCLA get most of the coverage. Maybe we get LB in the first so we have that option to get Pope in the second....?

RE: Re: RE: Re: Reciever can help offensive woes
Not unless we trade down.
Players will slide- it happens every year, especially to linebackers. I think we as Saints' fans tend to overrate them, as far as the draft is concerned, because it has been an area of need for such a long time. I gurantee that at least one big-name linebacker will be available to us at the 2nd pick (Carpenter or Howard, most likely). |
RE: Re: RE: Re: Reciever can help offensive woes
Having a taller WR changes a few things, leverage for one and also those deep up in the air endzone catches over the smaller CB's... its an advantage to have a taller WR over a smaller CB

RE: Re: RE: Re: Reciever can help offensive woes
wayne would be great, but he is another tiny guy. i would much rather have moulds. he is only 6'2, but at a solid 210lbs he provides a big body for our qb of the future to pass too.

What about Hilton??
He did great.... and tell that small receiver thing to Steve Smith... Where's his "gifted " TE?...... |
Who said he needed one? You're also talking about one of the best receivers in the league. His level of concentration amazes me.
Hilton had a good year. As soon as I see some consistancy at the position, I'll consider it not to be a need. Honestly, I have questions about Boo, Conwell, and Hall. That does not give me the "warm and fuzzies", especially from a depth perspective. So, it is a need. Hilton can start for all I care. |
True...Boo can roll...
Conwell can roll Hall....the jury is still out... And that Shad kid needs to be on the field to be judged.... you're right....we need depth.... |
RE: Re: RE: Re: Reciever can help offensive woes
HANDS, HANDS, HANDS THAT IS WHAT WE NEED. Once again i will say HASS is our man he can come in and play right away. great route runner, goes after balls over the middle, and he blocks. he is a smart student of the game. We have all the speed in worlsd and if they can learn to hold on to the ball and drop 1/2 the passes they have dropped over the past two years then they would get doubled covered and free some others up. Till then they will not be viewed as a serious threat to score more than once in single coverage. If they do it is viewed as a fluke.
