We can probably assume the reports are true that Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak is poised to become the Houston Texans' new boss (and unless you've been living in a cave for a week, you've got to buy into that likelihood, even if it means someone has trampled all over the NFL's allegedly hallowed anti-tampering rules). That means seven of the eight job vacancies created since the end of the '05 season have been filled by first-time head coaches.
The Anti-Tampering rules regarding coaches has been amended and changed so many times - minority interviews and coordinator tagging, not to mention allowing "special circumstances" and such - I don't even know what the rules are these days. Seems to me Kubiak was allowed to interview during Denver's off week....

I suppose all of these teams are sick and tired of breaking the bank on retreads like Capers, Mariucci, and Norv Turner and getting nothing but losses in return. Guess they figure they can't do any worse with up and coming coordinators who are more hungry.

very good point ---- i agree. the next team to take Norv as a head coach deserves whatever they get. He is a great O.C.--and thats it!!
