this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; It's kinda comical to see some folks take such a fervent stance for either Young or Leinart that THE OTHER ONE SUCKS!!! Sure, there are pros and cons for both - some probably outweighing the other. But they're both pretty ...

Sure, there are pros and cons for both - some probably outweighing the other. But they're both pretty dang good and given different circumstances they'll be in, take different time to develop. Some will take it so far that if we sign one of 'em, and he shines - He will always and forever more suck, no matter what..... and beat that drum on and on and on.... .... and heaven help us if for some reason we don't sign either of them. We'd see new and creative uses of the word "suck", that's for sure. While I'm on a roll here.... Suck it, Trebek. 8) |

Actually, if we didn't sign either, would mean that we traded down, and given the scenario, could be something that pleases almost everyone.

I won't believe it until I see it. |

honestly, i think we can all agree that the best quarterback in this draft is leinart... he will be head and shoulders above the rest of the rookie quarterbacks, just like when peyton came out... peyton wasn't the most athletic that year, but he was the most complete, nfl-ready quarterback just like leinart is this year... i think it's a no brainer and you can't get all worked up just b/c this guy vince young is such a great athlete... i mean, as far a being a quarterback, he's good, but not nearly as good as leinart is as a quarterback...

chermy,
you and i have been thru this before. yes i do think leinart can come in and make a difference in his first year. he will be the first qb the saints have had in a long time that can manage a game and greatly limit the number of mistakes. that would make a HUGE difference in what we have seen the past 3 or 4 years. he will take some time to develop into his full potential, but at his present state (getting even better in the preseason) he will be better than what the saints currently have at qb and most of the fa qbs out there. |
