Even without Hawk, though, I think that Gibbs means business and can start turning this D into a top 10 D consistently
Hell no, just trying to cover my arse just in case. I would rather have the LB first because we have overlooked that position since Hasbeen arrived. I guess he thought he could turn a no one into a someone and it didn't work. If we take Lienart first I would take Jackson, Sims or Carpenter with the 34 pick and Dvoracek DT with our 4th rounder.

Martz, Carthon or one of those high point scoring college coaches would be a good fit. I think Martz could handle just the offense without any other medical problems. You know that stress thing is hard on the heart and if you just want a mouthpiece Carthon on any quality college headcoach or offensive coordinator will work.

Here's another DT that could drop to the 2nd-4th round: Larry Dibbles-Texas

I like Dvoracek, but if Dibbles is still there, we gotta' get him. Dude is INTENSE!!!!!!

P.S.- I'd take Martz as an O.C. any day. That's one thing St. Louis was never lacking in under Martz-OFFENSE!!!!!!!!

What is speculated is that he will not hire a traditional OC, instead he will hire a passing game coordinator and a running game coordinator. Hey, maybe Payton and the other two can come up with some bad azz offensive game plans.... Hey, you know what they say....." Three heads are better than one"

Cher, when was the last time we didn't overlook the QB position? We haven't had a franchise QB since.... I don't even know, I probably wasn't born yet.

I still think we should trade down a spot or two....and pick Hawk. With this new DC there is nothing I would love more than to see the Saints run a 3-4 defense again. Im pretty sure no one has forgotten how good we were when we did run the 3-4.

I'm also sure we don't have nearly the kind of personnel to run a 3-4. We don't have a true NT for a 3-4. We don't have enough good linebackers for a 4-3, much less for a 3-4. I would like to see it to, but we don't have the players for it.

I think at this point we are trading down... Payton knows what this guy is capable of especially with good LB's. Its obvious we need an elite defense to win so starting there and slowly building the OL looks like what is going to happen.
