Shame about the stinky game at Chicago in the play-off. :( [I liked BnB's 1st playoff win v dem Sheep. I also remember a late night game when I am sure we beat Seattle 6-0. The tension was awful ] |
Favorite game? The playoff win...cried like a baby...I plan to cry again at the Black and Gold Superbowl!!!

Wait a second...I think I remember that Rams game. A last second field goal that put us in the playoffs? LOLOL...I remember they had a camera at Michael Irvin's house that night and he looked all upset because that field goal knocked Dallas out of contention that year. He was even more upset because we lost to Dallas that year. That was the year we made it to the postseason with an 8-8 record right? And we lost to the Bears on that crap call when we blocked the feild goal and they said we were offsides or something? Wow...its all comin back little by little.

I hate the 9ers
Early October 1993. I was a junior in high school and all was right with the world. Had great seats about 5 rows from the field in the corner of the end zone. Our record was 3-0 and we were playing the 49er's who we never, let me repeat, never beat. This was I believe the first year post Montana so I had a fleck of hope that we could at least keep it close, although the 9er's offense was a beast that year. We had Wade Wilson at QB and for those of you with a short memory Wade Wilson made Aaron Brooks look like Brett Favre that year. Our Dfense was amazing as usual back then and the Dome Patrol just wreaked havoc all day long.
I'm not certain but I think someone on our D just plain cold cocked Steve Young into another dimension at some point in the game so we were up against Cher's husband Steve Bono in crunch time of the game. The game came down to a long distance last second field goal by my man Morten Anderson. We were almost parralell with the goal post and when that kick just squeeked over the post as time expired the lid almost blew off the Dome. I was off to Bourbon in no time to complete the day with some good old underage drinking. Well after a start of 5-0 we (in usual Saints fashion) finished the year 3-8 to miss the playoffs again. The 49er's spanked us at Candlestick later that year 42-7, but for one day I thought anything was possible. I will never forget that game or how the Dome sounded or how the Dfense played. |
RE: I hate the 9ers
Ouch... I remember that year all too well. Wade Wilson was a hero turned goat in an instant. It got so bad that during that 3-8 stretch he went down with an injury and some of the fans in the Dome started cheering. I did not know how to react... I wanted to see someone else come in for Wilson but not like that...and not cheering for his injury either. I remember Dan Diedorf ripping Saints fans for the cheering.

Yep it was Steve Walsh and some guy named Mike Buck. If the fans had known how bad those two future janitors were they wouldn't have been cheering, I promise.
|
I hated Wade Wilson as a child.
