http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm I know it would still be about 4 million for a center, but if we wait until they cut him we may get him cheaper. Certainly would be alot cheaper than Bentley. |

I like Bentley, just not as our center. I am sorry how many times since Bentley took over have I seen completely blown protection schemes. The blocking he is call has been below average. Yes I know it is not all his fault, Brown was a rookie and Gandy should be cut, but I think we have a good interior line and Brown showed flashes of brilliance. I like Bentley as a guard, and we will have to pay too much to keep him as a guard.
Anyone else notice even though sometimes overmatched that when Fontenot was our center the right scheme seemed to be in place? Give me Willie Roaf back; there was a great trade, thanks Haslett; and sign a center. If Bentley does not want to stay for a reasonable guard salary, then let him go. |

Good Call Who Dat. I agree 100% on Fontenot. The line performed better and there were less fumbled exchanges. Bentley was a tremendous Guard and should have been left at Guard.

RE: This Center maybe available?
I've been looking at rosters and both Cincy and Cleveland has above average centers. So both teams have no need for a center. I don't think Bentley is going anywhere. Cincy has a good amount of money already invested in their line and if Cleveland wasn't going to open the open the books for Ross Verba at left tackle last season, I don't think they'll be able to outbid the Saints for Bentley's services. Plus Andra Davis is up for a very very large contract extension... so over paying for a guard wouldn't be wise for them.

It's hard to slam a guy for not being the best at a possition he wasn't meant to play. Bentley's a gaurd and a good one, blame Haslett for not fixing the problem to get Bentley back where he needed to be.
I agree with WhoDat & NJ, move Bentley back to gaurd and find a new guy through Free Agency. |

I love Bentleys fire, I loev seeing the play alomst done and Bentley still shoving people. Maybe he should be RG for us, him and Brown would be AWESOME. If we could get Hartings, even better.
