Screw AJ Hawk, we're getting Ray Lewis...
From ESPN. No chance. But it would be pretty amazing. |

RE: Screw AJ Hawk, we
I would love to have Lewis but how long would he last, another year or two? I believe he will be 31 before the start of the season. Hawk would provide 10 years to us of what Lewis has for the Ravens.

first in the words of haslett id like to say that he's a helluva football player, its just the kind of image id rather not have on this team. i wont take anything away from him on the football field, i'm just feelin this team has enough issues to deal with. players with off the field issues like this disturb me, its why i dont want to see TO here either.

Understandable. I just think that if we had the opportunity to get him, there's no reason why we should let it pass us by. I think he's really matured in this leage over the last few years, and he's not old yet. He's got several years left to play.

I want him but he cost to much money. We have more than one need on this team and it's going to cost us a crap load to get him and a high draft pick. I'd rather go with the cheaper option while not losing a pick... Akin or Witherspoon.

Hey, they are possibly looking for a QB. We can trade AB and maybe a 3rd rd pick for Lewis he can't cost to much more than AB and I guarantee that we can get 3 good years out of him. We have a lot of young LB's that can use some good on-field mentorship (notice I said on-field). Hey I'm not asking for the Pope. I just want to see the Saints win. I would take him. It would fill a major hole and we can move Watson. Can you imagin Watson, Lewis and Buckwalt. We need to win now not in 3 or 4 years. I think it's worth the shot to get a great linebacker who is still in his prime dispite his age.

I would definately take Ray Lewis on our team if we could sign him for relatively cheap. He would add some much needed leadership to our defense and he brings a lot of intensity and enthusiasm to every game. He has matured in his later years and I do not think his character would be an issue at this point in his career.
