Find a way!!
From everything that I have been hearing and reading, the NFL may be planning their exodus from NO and the Gulf Coast and their gala grand re-opening in Los Angeles. It appears to me that they are counting on the disaster plagued area to not be able to rebound and support the team. There is only one thing that could deter their plan and that would be the Dome being continuously sold out.
IMO, if nothing is done but everybody sitting back and taking the "wait and see" attitude, then this scenario will almost certainly play out. However, if the people of the area of Southern La. and the Miss. Gulf Coast set the wheels in motion now, they could possibly have every seat sold out for all of the home games before the season even begins. It would take a huge drive for raising money both in NO and the Coast, but it could be done. Raise the money any way possible. I would think that one major source for money would be the casinos in the area. Sell them on the idea of each one buying a group of tickets for each game, and then using them as giveaways to draw people into their casinos. There are all sorts of ways to raise money, and I think that the people of NO need to set the wheels in motion now in an effort to save their team and cause Benson and the NFL to option for plan B and possibly expose their real intention. |
