RE: back up n running after the biggest day
The Texans could trade to the Jets, but what of it. We then pick up Bush, the best player in the draft, or trade down a couple of spots and pick up Cutler and a heap of draft choices. Honestly, this Jets thing is all smoke and mirrors. They won't give up enough to get to Number 1 and I highly doubt we will trade out of our spot and lose out on taking Leinart, especially since we don't have a starter on our roster at this time. Unless we sign Brees, or trade for Culpepper, Leinart is as good as ours. This fact hasn't changed from the last day of the regular season.

It's time to sign Arrington, Witherspoon, Ramsay, Kitna, Mawae and trade down in the draft pick up alot of extra picks for Oline and draft the top DT in the draft.
Changing my mind, but it's really the money talking. |

RE: back up n running after the biggest day
i am saying do we need to trade up to secure matt. i heard the jets are having brees in for a visit. that could be true or a smoke screen. if the jets were to move up toi1 from 4 what will it cost them. i would assume it will cost them their one this year and next. i am not sure if they are saying that to force our hand or are they serious. i think if we move up it cost one aditional pick. i think houston is smart because they can what they want out of the deal. they let the jets trade up they move to four. they let us trade up we get their pick and they still get who they wanted. i think they want bush all along. i think they are pkaying us.

We've got plenty of money to get Lienart and sign several quality O linemen, including Bentley. Hell, if we're going to pay him tackle salary, let's switch him to guard, where he'll be worth more and get a center for the 2nd pck. I didn't really think he was that good over the ball to begin with - his shotgun snaps were like wounded ducks.

Doesn't matter how much cap room we have...its just not the philosophy of our FO to break the bank for free agents. We can forget about Arrington, Mawae, Ty Law, Charles Woodson, and all those same types. I would be happy with Witherspoon and maybe a DT and DE, but we all know deep down that we won't be getting any real big name stars. |

I think Bentley is as good as gone. He'll probably go to the Eagles or the Vikings.

Having $$ is Great, but do we have an OWNER who is willing to pay to bring some players in, Arrington would be nice, not sold on woodson I think he is a bit over-rated and would cost too much, I'd rather bring in someone else. I do think Vanderjagt would be a good pick-up thought, we could use a better/younger kicker.
