this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Yeah....I am bewildered at how John Clayton could say that the Saints would select Mario Williams. Probably better than both Smith and Grant, but we have much more pressing needs....

I was impressed with D'brick...I also liked that OL from miami Winston Justice...speaking of DT guys I looked at some draft boards today and Wroten and Kyle Williams are dropping like rocks...could they be there for our two second round picks we get for our First round #2 after we trade out of it of course when we sign brees

Fujita? The guy's decent, but by no means an enforcer at LB. Just an average NFL LB (which is still a step up for us at the LB postion). Our front office is some cheap bastards! There are much better LB's out there, but we want the cheapest guy we can sign. I mean if you can give AB a six year-$48 million deal, surely you could offer Lavar Arrington some moolah.

And who said that Charles Grant had a bad year? He had more tackles than Will Smith, and even though his sack numbers were down, he did take on double teams almost every play that helped free up Brian Young and Willie Whitehead allowing them to amass 51 and 35 tackles a piece, repsectively. Trust me, if we get a good DT who can take some of the double teams off Grant, we'll see the same kind of guy who had 80 tackles, 10.5 sacks, and 3 FF in 2004. The guy is a BEAST, we have absolutely NO NEED to draft a DE. That is actually the only position that we can totally ignore this offseason. |

Also, Brooks plays QB which demands A LOT more money than the LB position. You can't compare their salaries. Also, Arrington has NO interest in playing here. He wants to go to the Giants, Dolphins, Browns, or Vikings (probably in that order). |
