RE: question?
they do not add up to it. #2 is 2600pts, those add up to 1712pts. throw in #18 and it would be equal. someone proposing a denver trade?
here's a link to a value chart to keep handy this time of year- http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/6330687 if getting brees, i like trading down to #4 the jets spot and get #35 and #71 in return (close value). that would then be #4, 34, 35, and 71- d'brick, a top 6 LB (or 2), another starter, and a replacement for our missing 3rd rounder. one more handy link- http://www.draftboardinsider.com/res...raftorder.html |

LOL, do the math schmitskins...
#2= 2600pts 17+48+51= 1760 that is 840pts shy. picks for the next season are generally scored as one round lower. an average first rounder would= less than 500pts. the roll of the dice with a next years pick is a surprising finish. last winter if trading for the bears first rounder you might have expected to get #10 to #16 on the high end, probably lower. oops, surprise to #26. the opposite with the jets. most would have thought maybe a mid first round pick at best. viola you get #4. trading out of the top costs a lot! the eli trade was about right. to move up 3 spots (essentially) the giants had to give the #3 that year plus the #1 and #5 the next. the high cost is what makes swapping with TN or NYJ most viable. the saints would probably be satisfied with a #2 and #3 this year or a #3 and next years #1. that is unless a bidding war ensues. i like the prospects of that! hermdingerdog, leinarts former OC is at TN and the Jets would have to love having a marquee golden boy to hand the reins to. to drop lower than the top 6-7 would require at least two first rounders and/or an established starter probably. |
