I know I'm on my own on this one but I'd rather have Leinart and build around him. He is going to be a stud and I'm frustrated that we passed on him While I'd love to have him in Black and Gold it wouldn't make sense for us to draft him. I'm among the biggest Leinart fans on this forum but I'm hoping that we can find a team to trade down with or we can somehow land Bush.

I'd get him, keep Conwell, and develop Hilton. The Brees/Gates connection will be the Brees/Hilton Connection. Conwell is the player coach for one more season. I think we need the Left Tackle kid Brick wall or whatever his name is. With Brown on the Right, and this kid on the left, Stinchcomb as guard (which he is more comfortable being) we can get a center and keep Holland as left guard. We'd be set on the line. I'd also pick up a RB around 3-4 in the draft as insurance. Any other Ideas???

GoldRush, I just thought Leinart would be the best move for our franchise. It's a different opinion from obviously everyone else. I'll come around to the signing and I really do hope that I'm wrong. I just have my doubts on Brees and I think Leinart's going to be a stud. But, you know, in the end if we can build our franchise with a solid D we can turn it around.

Timay, you keep being the voice of decent. It's OK man I'm with you. I was really hoping Brees would go to Miami & we'd draft Leinart. Now that Brees is a Saint, I'll defend him and look for the good in this. But it wasn't my first choice.

I still say will draft Leinart, here's why, Brees contract isn't written in stone so their aren't guarantees, I heard today that their is a clause in the contract that says if the Saints feel Brees isn't doing the job as they would expect that they could cut him after this year after paying big bucks, I'm very happy to see we signed a great QB in Brees but make no mistake about it we need to see if he's healthy to play the game as he did before his shoulder injury, so if not we would have Matt.

His first year is guaranteed, he's also due 8 mil. bonus this year, that's it, so that brings us to next year, what if for some reason he can't play his game because of his past injury, then what?, you have to draft Leinart/Young just in case things don't work out for Brees which I feel they will work out really good for him and the Saints, I can't see us not thinking of the near future with it comes to the QB situation, we can't afford not to draft a QB this year.
