4 players we need to target...
Gary Walker DT, Houston Texans
Will Allen CB, New York Giants Gus Frerotte QB, Miami Dolphins Cory Raymer C, Washington Redskins With the signing of Brees and Fujita, we're headed in the right direction. If we can sign 2 out of the 4 players in that list, I think we have a solid chance of making it into the playoffs next season... with a solid draft also of course. What do you guys think? None of these guys should break the bank on us like Brees did, but all very solid and should be great team players with the exception of Allen of course... but who wants a corner who's not a little cocky? |

I may be mistaken, but I think Walker is considering retirement. Frerrote would be a nice back-up, but I'd like to see A-Mac as the 2nd string. Raymer? maybe. Will Allen? Definitely...especially since Fahkir is gone.

I would still like to see us pick up one of the big name LBs that are left on the FA list. Arrington is a pro bowl LB who just didn't get along with the old fashion coaching from Gibbs. This would then relieve us of HAVING to choose a LB in the early rounds. We still could get A.J. Hawk who I think is great, but we don't have to, which means we could drop to mid first round and bulk up on picks. I like this scenerio alot better. Who would I choose in the mid first round you ask? I like Winston Justice OT University of Southern California.

guys, give up on Arrington. Seriously, there is no way in hell that he's gonna be a Saint. We're not willing to give that kinda money to a LB.

I would like Frerotte as a backup, I think he'd fit that role well.
I haven't heard anything about Will Allen. He's good, but I'd imagine his asking price will be pretty high. Don't know much about Walker or Raymer, but I'd like to see the us go after the top guy on Len Pasquarelli's sleeper FA list: Trey Teague, OC, Bills. |
