What's up fellow Saints Fans.......Just a quick question. Why are we not going after a solid MLB in free agency? Some time or another we are going to have to adress the MLB and CB position. It seems to me that after the Brees signing, we will go after D'Brink at either the 2nd pick or after trading with the Jets the 4th pick (someone has to protect him.) Will there be a solid MLB or shutdown corner in the 2nd round?

RE: New Guy Here
1st of all, welcome aboard. There will be solid LB's in the 2nd round this year as this year's draft is deep at the posiion. As for CB's. Not too many shut down types this year.

RE: New Guy Here
Mybe I just don't get it...year after year there are the Ty Laws and the Lavar Arrington's out there for FA and year after year we look over them and rely mainly on the draft while other teams in our division get better via FA! Is it that we are scared of the off/on field problems that seem to follow FA? Or is it that we refuse to spen the $'s on a possible A grade FA? I really do not understand!!!

I guess my next question is "When are we going to adress the K position?"

welcome aboard! it is nice to see new faces. i am expecting more to keep coming as people get revved about the possibilities of the new regime.
a lot of people are excited about the brees move because we finally did somethig of significance in FA. i am giving them a fresh slate even with loomis still as GM. the past was very frustrating offseason after offseason. it may not be real faith yet but real hope is rising among saint fans. for LBs, arrington has stated the east coast teams he will play for. petersen is possible but probably overpriced and i haven't heard any rumor or mention of him in NO. after that you drop down to the cato june or jamie winborn level. okay, maybe solid, but not high impact. this is an unusally deep LB class. an immediate starter could still be available at pick #34 if we do not end up with hawk or someone before 34 with acquired picks. if you are wanting an inside/middle guy i think there is a high probability that either abdul hodge or d'qwell jackson would be available. either of them would be an improvement over current players. look'em up, they are good. see Remaing Free agent wish List thread for thoughts on kickers |

It just seems we have dodged the MLB and CB position the past few drafts...I could be wrong but it seems that we are stuck on the O and D Line!!!!! I feel it all starts with the MLB spot then you work your way from that! SOMEONE has to run your D!!!
