RE: Payton and entire coaching staff attends LSU pro day
most teams try to set up surfaces for their players that make their 40 times much faster... for example AJ hawk at the NFL combine ran 4.66 in the 40, but at his pro day Hawk was clocked at 4.49 and 4.42 in the 40 The OSU players ran outdoors on a strip of extremely fast AstroTurf that has been down there for some years... i doubt hawk can run with olympic sprinter bennie brazell...LSU didnt run on one of the made up fast surfaces

Are any of these guys worth a 1st day selection?
If Wroten can't push the bar more than a good LB, then I can't see taking him. Whitworth might be worth taking with a 3rd, just to satisfy the homers. |

Running backs
Jerious Norwood made a name for himself with an impressive all-around performance. We will not have three drafted in the first five picks like we did last year, but this is a strong group. The first four selected likely will be Southern California's Reggie Bush, Minnesota's Laurence Maroney, Southern California's LenDale White and Memphis' DeAngelo Williams. LSU's Joseph Addai, Wisconsin's Brian Calhoun, UCLA's Maurice Drew, Washington State's Jerome Harrison, Fresno State's Wendell Mathis and Florida State's Leon Washington are players who did some good things. They should be able to help an NFL team in the future. Addai ran the fastest 40 of this group (4.37), and at 5-11¼ and 214 pounds. Mississippi State's Jerious Norwood ran 4.40 and looked good catching the ball. http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/9281192 |

RE: Re: RE: Payton and entire coaching staff attends LSU pro
ehhh, whatever.
Maybe I missed a 3rd or 4th run, but the official time, that I heard announced with my own two ears, while I was watching the combine was 4.4, which is also what Norwood ran, followed by Washington, who ran a 4.42. Again, the coverage was limited, so I might have missed another run. |
