Buccaneers | Brooks completes his visit; has others planned
Sat, 18 Mar 2006 06:50:26 -0800

Rick Stroud, of the St. Petersburg Times, reports free agent QB Aaron Brooks (Saints) completed his visit with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Friday, March 17 and left without a contract offer. Brooks has other trips scheduled, according to his agent, Mason Ashe. "Regarding that visit, I'll let them decide if they want to say anything about it," Ashe said. "It gave the coaches a chance to meet him and everybody seemed to like each other. It's been interesting. During his process, he's heard a lot of critiques of his game and his personal character. But it is a strange scenario for him."
I'm not sure that his agent is really doing him any favors. What do you all make of this?

Most of it not good I'm guessing. Baltimore is on the list I beleive and the best chance for him to become a starter again. Amazingly they're (Baltimore) a team we play this year, so there'd still be a chance to see how he does against our new D.

Raiders | Team tentatively scheduled to visit with A. Brooks
Sat, 18 Mar 2006 08:10:17 -0800

Jerry McDonald, of the Oakland Tribune, reports the Oakland Raiders have tentatively scheduled a visit with free agent QB Aaron Brooks (Saints) Tuesday, March 21. He will arrive in Oakland Monday evening March 20. A Raiders source said a visit with Brooks had not been finalized. The Raiders are expected to have serious discussions with Brooks. Mason Ashe, the agent for Brooks, told the New Orleans Times-Picayune Brooks wanted a chance to be a starter as well as the best overall opportunity. "We just want to find a team that wants him, that's the first thing," Ashe said. "We'll do what's best for him. He can help a number of teams, and he's a proven starting quarterback in this league."
This really could be a good place for AB. I hope this works out.

If Baltimore gets Brooks they are gonna be serious!

LongTimeFan 03-18-2006 02:42 PM

Even if the Ravens had P. Manning they wouldn't do good, not much of a team these days.

fatz6179 03-18-2006 02:45 PM

but yeah that's FO problem Brooks needs a team were the fans won't slay him and give him a chance. A good qB makes good recievers. Favre = Ferguson, Brooks = Horn

LongTimeFan 03-18-2006 02:49 PM

Fats, I can't bleive it, you fianlly named a player on the team who is good to you, keep at it, maybe there is antoher player on the team who you feel is a good player, I'm proud of you, continue to take baby steps.

fatz6179 03-18-2006 02:51 PM

yeah now it's your turn to get off Pees sack

lonewolf 03-18-2006 02:57 PM

i can't believe some of the Brooks's haters actually want to see him play against the Saints. The only way you'd want to see Brooks play against the Saints defense is if they really do a serious upgrade. What the Saints have on defense at the moment would only make Brooks smile more...

fatz6179 03-18-2006 03:00 PM

except he ain't gonna smile at that d-line now the DB's yeah except for Bullet Bullocks

LongTimeFan 03-18-2006 03:01 PM

Fat, keep talking, I hear you dude.

fatz6179 03-18-2006 03:05 PM

Is sullivan ever gonna get cut? I had so many hopes for him...but I got the Manimal now so long Howard

LongTimeFan 03-18-2006 03:07 PM

Sullivan never became the player I thought he would be as of yet.

fatz6179 03-18-2006 03:09 PM

yeah he's a bust....any way i always got his highlights

fatz6179 03-18-2006 03:09 PM

to remember when he was in georgia

He didn't do squat against some of the worst passing defenses in the NFL this year & w/ our new coach I believe our defense will be substantially better.

Blitz Brooks on every play, and he'll back-peddle his way to the parking lot. I don't think even a change of scenery will help this guy. Unless he developed a brain during the off-season which I find highly unlikely.

You should wear your sig as a T-Shirt, that way the angry villagers would know where to stick their pitchforks and torches. Brink AB back indeed. Hmph.

dude just in case you didn't know, in all honesty for anyone not to know the Saints have trotted the worst defense on the field for the past 6 years. So with that being the case, how did even the worsts QB'S fair against our team?

Now you honestly want to say Brooks wouldn't have a probowl day, against our defense unless it is seriously upgraded? remember th 5TD'S by Manning? the 250 yards rushing by Mike Anderson? that was all Brooks's fault!

jrmllb 03-19-2006 03:45 PM

OL lineman need time to develp in most cases, 2 or 3 years to pick up the schemes and footwork...I would not call Sullivan a bust just yet...besides with a qb that gets rid of the ball inside of 10 seconds, throws above ground, and can remember more than one read he wont have to block for as long as he has
