Top Seven

With all the hubbub about trading out of the #2 spot, how far down would you feel comfortable going? I think we need to get at least one high impact starter, not just someone good enough to replace some of the bums still around. As I look the board over it seems we could draft no lower than #7 (Oakland's spot) to get such a player. So my question is this- who are your Top Seven Rated Players in the Draft? Not a draft prediction because there usually will be a surprise or two or three to shake things up. This list would tell you who you should get at #7 at a minimum. Just seven and no maybes-

1. Reggie Bush
2. Matt Leinart
3. Mario Williams
4. D'Brickashaw Ferguson
5. Vernon Davis
6. A.J. Hawk
7. Haloti Ngata

See the difference? It is highly probable that Young, Cutler, and/or Huff could be picked ahead of those. Your seven?

kelly, do you believe the vikings need a qb?
with all their picks, who on there team would be a good p/u for us?
who are they building that offensive line for? smitty

Don't trade out of the spot, take Vince Young as he'll be the best athlete available and trade him if you get a great deal. Otherwise there's a high likelihood that Brees will not be in the league by the end of the 2006 season and we'll be kicking ourselves not having a star qb backup.

Trade down take Cutler. Get extra picks

LKelley67 03-21-2006 08:49 AM

how bout your top 7 besides the draft strategies? I'm wanting to see how much of a consensus there is.

BlackandBlue 03-21-2006 08:57 AM

This is how I rank the current list of players, as far as what they bring to their respective positions.
1. Reggie Bush
2. D'Brickashaw Ferguson
3. Mario Williams
4. Matt Lienart
5. Vernon Davis
6. Haolti Ngata
7. Michael Huff

The fastest rising player on my draft board currently is Chad Jackson. He has the potential to pass Holmes as the first WR selected.

FanNJ 03-21-2006 09:04 AM

1.Reggi Bush
2.D'Brickshaw Furguson
3.Vernon Davis
4.Jay Cutler
5.Mario Williams
6.Matt Leinart
7. AJ Hawk

Tobias-Reiper 03-21-2006 09:09 AM

2.- AJ Hawk
3.- Brick
4.- Williams
5.- Leinart
6.- Davis
7.- Cutler

1. D'Brickshaw Ferguson--franchise LT's are worth their weight in platinum.
2. Mario Williams--everyone wants a pass rusher and this guy looks like a stronger Peppers.
3. Matt Leinart--smart, doesn't make mistakes. Has enough to do the job physically.
4. A J Hawk--elite player, great motor and work ethic, great side to side speed and instincts.
5. Michael Huff--great player, great attitude, great open field tackler.
6. Haloti Ngata--could be the next Ted Washington
7. Reggie Bush--I know I'm buying the hype, but I think RBs are interchangable anymore and this guy isn't Jim Brown.

Cher, you still got "brightness" as the 3rd best player in the draft?

BJSim 03-22-2006 11:58 AM

gandhi, more interesting is the fact that Cher is pushing for Hawk yet has him seventh on his list.

BlackandBlue 03-22-2006 01:25 PM

and he's overrating Williams.....

CheramieIII 03-22-2006 08:05 PM

The fact that everyone is paying so much attention to my top seven tells me something!

Yeah, I still think someone wants him and they made trade up to get him.

Just because I want to draft the guy doesn't mean it's going to happen.

Just one man's opinion!

I love all the attention though.

gandhi1007 03-22-2006 08:25 PM

I'm just breaking your balls, Cher.

CheramieIII 03-22-2006 08:34 PM

I know G, can't let you guys roll over without saying something!
