Griese signs with the Bears!
Bears | Team agrees to terms with Griese
Tue, 21 Mar 2006 18:06:56 -0800 John Mullin and K.C. Johnson, of the Chicago Tribune, report the Chicago Bears have agreed to a five-year contract with free agent QB Brian Griese (Buccaneers), according to a source close to the player. Financial details weren't yet immediately available. Griese is expected to supplant QB Kyle Orton as QB Rex Grossman's primary backup. http://www.kffl.com/hotw/ No way he plays behind Grossman. |

RE: Griese signs with the Bears!
I'd like to know what is going to happen to Orton now. He has a lot of potential in my opinion.

I think Grossman will start. Griese's old and coming off an ACL tear, which isn't something that old guys usually recover from quickly.

The heir apparent is Orton. I think Grossman will be given one more year to see if he can stay injury free. If not Griese will step in and Orton will take over the reigns the next year as Grossman is released.
