Brooks Signed by Raiders (Seriously)
http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/9329201
Wanted to get this on the boards so people can argue the pros/cons. Personally I hope he does well. |
RE: Brooks Signed by Raiders (Seriously)
Hahaha! I'm just glad he's not a Saint anymore. Let them suffer the agony I've had for the last couple of years.

Here's ESPN's article. It's a bit longer and adds their take on the deal. 8 million for two years. That pretty good money for him, I honestly didn't think he'd get anything near that amount. |
RE: Brooks Signed by Raiders (Seriously)
I'm just glad he's gone, and he won't have to be the topic of any more discussion on this forum. I wish him well as a person, but if we ever face him in a game, I hope we wipe that stupid smile off his face.
|
Yea I Hope AB does well!!! He is now A Raider
 Well It didn't take long for someone to realize that Brooks was still unsigned  the guy has a riffle for an arm but we didn't have the dept threat to go with that arm of his save Joe Horn :biggun:
|
RE: Yea I Hope AB does well!!! He is now A Raider
Unbelievable.... where are these people coming from?
|
RE: Yea I Hope AB does well!!! He is now A Raider
The Raiders will find out soon enough that Brooks is no better than Collins, and that's not saying much.
Brooks will have Moss and we all know how Moss gets upset when he can't get the ball. Brooks in Oakland with their fans will be spell D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R, Disaster. |
I will walk carefully here...on another board I got banned because I liked A. Brooks. I never understood why so many people in N.O. hated the guy. He gave us our most shinning moments ever. More than Archie, Bobby, or any other qb we've ever had. He will now be throwing to one of the best if not the best WR in the game. He will have a monster season for sure...he will be a fantasy players dream this year...some of those balls that Donte dropped will turn into five yard passes that go for 90 yards. Unlike most who will read or post here, I thought the Saints should have kept him. Imagine what you could have done with that $60 million they spent on an injured Brees who may not be able to throw a deep out this year. They better hope and pray Brees recovers. I'll still be pulling for my Saints but I'll definitely be pulling for the Raiders too...I hope AB makes everyone in N.O. regret we let him go...Congrats AB.

I'm not going to hate, I hope he does well with the Raiders. However, Deuce said it best, now since this guy has signed with the Raiders we can move on and he won't be a topic of discussion anymore. :drink:

who is aaron brooks? i know no one of that name. the only qb's i know are brees and amac.
|
Al Davis has officially lost his mind. He went from one sorry a** turnover prone QB with a big arm to another one. Frankly, Collins is the smarter of the two. I'm glad he's their problem now.
|
chargers, broncos and cheifs??? haha good luck in that division buddy.

You guys want a good laugh? Read the article on CBS Sportsline. Here's a bit of it. Note the comment made by Alvis Whitted.
ALAMEDA, Calif. -- The Oakland Raiders found their replacement for Kerry Collins, agreeing to terms Wednesday with former New Orleans quarterback Aaron Brooks on a two-year contract worth about $8 million. The 29-year-old Brooks is expected to compete with veteran backup Marques Tuiasosopo and second-year pro Andrew Walter for Oakland's vacant starting job. Brooks was cut last week by New Orleans when the Saints signed Drew Brees, one of the most coveted free agents available this year. Brooks started 13 games for New Orleans last season, completing 240 of 431 passes for 2,882 yards and 13 touchdowns. He threw 17 interceptions. "Oh, sweet," receiver Alvis Whitted said in a phone interview. "I'm glad that we do have a new quarterback. I'm sure he'll fit right in with what we're trying to get done here. I'm sure the coaches are excited. From what I've seen of him play, he's done some great things. He's very athletic, a mobile quarterback and very intelligent, too. He's a great fit for us, and we're happy to have him." http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9329312 Now if that isn't funny, I don't know what is. |
That is funny. AB labeled as intelligent by someone? :stupid:
|
If Alvis Whitted thinks Brooks is "intelligent" then he must be dumber than a bag of hammers. Sorry. Had to throw in a little "O Brother, Where Art Thou" quote
|
i say arron good luck in your new job. have a good time i hope you have success finally and can prove that you really are a great qb on an average team. or were for that matter. good luck brother. ok so now that he is with the raiders can we stop the brooks posts. ummm probably not. i guess every game that brees has that is good there will be no brooks posts but everyone that he has bad will start the normal hey i told you it wasn't arrons fault.

.. don't assume the plural... |
pathetic, both the raiders front office and the posters, er, poster
|
Good luck AB if you would get back to scrambling, things would make a turn for the better.
End of my AB posts. |
I wish Aaron well, and I hope he has success against every team, but the Saints.
I want to hear Drew get just as much put downs, when he throws an interception or fumbles as Aaron got. I want to her Drew called dumb just like Aaron was, when he throws a bad pass. Funny how Aaron was smart enough to win the Saints only playoff game. Which I guess means the other Saints QBs were not as smart as him, since they didn't win any playoff games, with the Saints. |

AB would not have gotten half of the criticism he got if he just stopped smiling and kept his yap shut. |
He wouldn't have gotten half the criticism... if he hadn't thrown boneheaded backward passes to offensive tackles. C'mon, they guy may have been athletic, but he was dumber than a box of rocks.
I for one am grateful. Though it's way overdue. |

A few remarks from Raider boards.

Oddly enough 70ish percent of the responses to their poll think he's a good to great signing. Quote:

At any rate. If AB get to throw the ball as far as he can every down and let Moss try and get under it, he might be ok. |
OMG!! AARON BROOKS SIGNED WITH THE CRIMINAL OUTFIT CALLED "DA RAIDAHZ"!!
'JUST WHEN BABY?" :crow: GROUND PAT'I!! |

I'm glad he got signed. Well see how he does behind a different O line. I'll reserve comment until then.
But Moss can't make him look bad, just look at Culpeppers numbers with Moss. |
I've said it before...AB is probably a decent guy. He was certainly never a bad citizen, just a flake. I think that's what it comes down to...he's a little off and has a strange approach. He was never my favorite QB, just the most frustrating to watch. Tons of potential with some really nice throws followed by maddening decisions and stretches of complete ineptitude.
I wish AB well, but I actually like both the Chiefs and the Chargers. He is gonna have a rough year down there. I don't hate the man, just his approach and his lack of accountability. And for you guys saying poor pitiful AB, if he had a line, if he had a deep threat...... You people have no clue how to watch football. Sure, the coaching has left alot to be desired, but AB as a sympathetic figure never got it for me. He made alot of bad throws and cost us alot of games. There is plenty of blame to go around, but it was time for him to go. It's better for him and it's better for us. Now, I just dread week 5 when AB has his first good game and all you toolbags come on here saying "see...he is good". Then you will go back into the woodwork till he has his next good game in week 9. Get over it. It's not the line, it's not the receivers, it's not the D, AB is a QB and he gets paid like one. All the blame and all the credit. Now, let's get on with our freaking lives and support the Saints. |

These folks can't be serious...
Aaron is not going to make this team any better...what he adds in scrambling he'll subtract in stupid decisions, fumbles , smiling etc..... I'm laughin' at tRaider fans........ |
Have you guys seen the new ESPN phone commercial with Brooks. The Raiders should have watched that before signing him. It's vintage Aaron. There he is sitting on a park bench looking at the playbook on his wristband confused. PRICELESS!!!!!
|
Tool Bag is a little harsh. Three good games a season is not acceptable.
|
Brooks will do fine with the Raiders.... He is perfect for their vertical passing game and will shine because Randy Moss won't drop many passes. Brooks will throw for 3500 yards again and I wish him all the best.
Thank God he's out of here. http://blogsimages.skynet.be/images/...ling%20cat.gif |

I don't know why, but for some reason when I saw this on ESPN.com, I just started dying laughing! |
Brooks looks cool and refreshed in this picture.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! :D |
Oddly enough... he completed that pass in pratice.
