He's worst than Brooks, get rid of him, the Saints have no use for him.

Have not read all the posts on this thread so sorry if what I'm thinking has already been said.
But what if the whole intention was still to draft Leinhart? Bring in Brees as a mentor that can give us a good few years with a shot at getting into the playoffs and making a run, with a young prospect learning the ropes ready to take over in a few years when we cut Brees loose? To far fetched or possible? Not sure on all the financial numbers to Brees contract, so just thinking aloud. |

Stallworth, I had the same thought as you with Leinart but a lot of ppl say that the Saints will not draft him, it would be a good move but it would be a big money issue, we have huge needs with the OL so I guess it's where we should start.

Yeah, I was thinking that too, but I have not looked into all the cap space and all those numbers. Maybe they've stopped signing FA to leave room far a Leinhart contract?
Also even if they do get Leinhart at 2, that might make the trade even more sweet as the Jets or maybe even the Pack would be shocked we actually drafted him! Then Tenn, GB,NYJ and who knows who else might make an offer better then they would have come draft day? |

Some fans were saying that we're not signing FA as other teams have been so you could be right, I said in another thread that I felt something big was getting ready to happen, a big signing or two, we'll see, but something is going on I feel. |

I've seen plenty of USC games to know Matt Leinert doesn't have the "crank it down the field" arm strength that Cutler does. He also has no wheels. He did have the luxury of playing behind an outstanding offensive line. something he may not have in the pros. Just ask David Carr what a reality check that can be. Cutler, on the other hand, played for a lousy team and still was able to kick ass. Advantage Cutler. |
