this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; just getting beat by a better team. can't be upset with being one of the final 4. that is an excellent season. i know it hurts but at least you got to ride this long. 60 plus teams didn't...

LTF, I was rooting for LSU tonight, was hoping to see them go all the way. If you guys can get ur underclassmen to all come back u guys will be nice next year, I'd be worried about Davis, Thomas, or both going pro. For such an entertaining tournament we had 2 lame games tonight.

Neither Thomas or Davis displayed the necessary will to dominate to interest pro scouts. Everybody's that athletic in the NBA, you have to bring it. Davis was caught too close to the baseline to make his normal shot, most of which was in his control, and Thomas played with his head on a swivel and didn't help his guards out. Another year (or two) of playing at a high college level will help these guys out tremendously.

Congrats to LSU... they came a long way this season. Prior to the start of the season, no one could have believed with a straight face that they would make it all the way to the Final Four. Losing tonight should not dampen what we accomplished this year. Hopefully with the success we're having, we can finally land a good recruiting class. Things are looking up for our program... now we just need a shooting guard.
Anyone remember how John Brady was on the verge of getting fired this year? Guess he'll get an extension now... |

Davis & Thomas both hopefully will return next season, but they both played horrible last night due to a very good UCLA D, hats off to UCLA for a job well done, I hope they beat the Gators, a team I dislike like no other.

RE: Re: RE: LTF your boys are letting me down
Glen Davis has been quoted by si.com that he will be back for his junior season... great news our Tigers. Now if we can get the same from Thomas...
Glen Davis: "I'll be back," he said. "I want to maximize my ability. I want to enjoy college. This has been a wonderful ride that I can put in my book of memories." Tyrus Thomas: "We'll see what happens," he said. (on returning to LSU next season) Thomas sounded as if he wants to give it another run with the Tigers. "Somebody had to lose, and I never thought it would be us," he said. "But there's an upside to this. We'll be in Atlanta next year [at the Final Four] -- and we'll win it." "I wish I could hit the rewind button and go back," Davis said. "I can't do that, of course. But this will make me a better person and a better player. It makes me want to get back next year and win it all." |

RE: Re: RE: LTF your boys are letting me down
Thanks papz for the post, that's good news, as you said if we get Thomas back too it will be good, if they both return we should pickup where we left off from this season.
UCLA had a great game plan, which was to run Davis hard up and down the court, the speed of UCLA is what won it for them, Davis needs to be in better shape coming into next season, I bet he totally agrees, the way he plays he needs to have good size but I say if he loses about 20 pounds he'll be better off. Hopefully UCLA beats the Gators tonight. |
Rest In Peace JoeSam, thanks for everything my friend.
