hagan714 04-06-2006 07:31 AM

Like eli wants all the media attention. big bucs

FatiusJeebs 04-06-2006 08:51 AM

I would have preferred Cutler anyway.

BrooksMustGo 04-06-2006 09:07 AM

He's more than welcome to play for the Jets. As long as the Jets are willing to trade up to get him.

J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets.

what some people don't realize is that these players are there own PR firms. If it looks like you might go to a team sure you put out there that is where you want to go, you love the community, the people blah blah blah... a few weeks ago he said he would love to play in NO big deal. Brees basically did the same thing... it gets the fans and community to support the player. I don't think this is a big deal and changes nothing, its going to come down to how much the Jets want to risk waiting to see if they can get him at 4. Personally why do they have to lose??? they will get one of the 3 top QB's in the draft no matter what.

Wow. I agree with Euph. Ice in hell tonight folks. Did people really seriously fall for this? Before we had Brees, he kept saying how muchhe would love to play in New Orleans. Find another reason to hate the guy.

That would be awesome if he wanted to play for the Jets. That would give the Jets incentive to skip over the Titans, because if they don't, we might not take him, but Tennessee surely will.

LOL no one is hating Leinart. I don't think I recall Leinart saying he would love to play in NO. I think he said he would play anywhere that picked him and that holding out is not what he plans to do. Not exactly a ringing endorsement of our city. Now he's saying he would LOVE to play for NY. I'm sure he is genuinely excited about playing in NY though, and why wouldn't he be?? It's the closest thing to LA he'll get besides Oakland. It's not ALL PR. I'm sure if anyone here were the top ranked QB in this draft they would rather play in NY or L.A. than a small market.

That being said, if we were to draft him I'm sure he'd come here and it'd would be a good situation for us, but of course Leinart has his own preferences. I think we all know NO isn't at the top of anyone's list.

Then I don't think you recall correctly. When asked SPECIFICALLY about the Saints, dude not only said he would love to come here and be part of the rebuilding, he even mentioned some of our offensive players by name. Trust me, any time he is asked about any team he will say he'd love to go there. Why wouldn't he?

I can't find that link anywhere, but I would expect nothing less from anyone represented by a top agent in the league. Sorry if this seems cynical but this is the world of professional sports. In any event, don't kid yourself by the talk. The guy is partial to places that he would like to go and work, just like you and I or any other person living in the US for that matter. If you don't think he'd prefer one team over another then I don't know what to tell you.

Drew Brees said the same thing that you said Leinart did about wanting to be part of the rebuilding and all that. Yeah that's why he gave Miami every opportunity up until the last minute to match or come close to our offer. And it was Miami who called off the talks. I'm sure Drew Brees wants to play here because obviously he signed wih us, but don't think he didn't prefer Miami over us.

All this said I think he would still be a good addition to the Saints if we were to draft him. I'll probably still be called a hater.

Um, exactly why I said noone should be getting bent out of shape cause he mentions this team or that team.

Ha I just think that people wanted him to be like "Well New York is nice and all but there's nothing that would compare to being a part of rebuilding the great city of New Orleans and bringing that team to prominence."

If I were him I would've been breathing a huge sigh of relief when Brees signed with us. Check out his website at mattleinartqb.com about his favorite color and places to visit. Everything isn't PR.

I for one support WhoDi's new avatar. I'm not really getting the rush of nearly naked chick avatars though, but for that one I make an exception.

Next April 1, Halo should just give everyone a Brian Milne avatar for fun.

Matt Leinart can suck it, been reading his own press. He's all the theatrics of Joe Namath with 1/8 the talent and physical tools.

That being said, I think we should have him down in the next 2 weeks for "serious contract talks" to really light a fire under Tennessee and the Jets to trade up for him.
