Kenny Wilkson said somwthing to the effect that getting rid of Gandy was almost as big as getting rid of AB. that he had a big ego and was trouble in the locker room, not to mention that he refused to help with salary cap by redoing his contract last year. Him going means less penalties on the O-line. A box of jock straps would have been a good swap.

I love this trade. I don't care what kind of safety Scott is or turns out to be. Getting rid of Gandy and his salary is worth it. Gandy has not been worth the money we were paying since he got here. If Stinch is anywhere close to where he was before he got hurt, I can't say that is a big loss in terms of production and we gain oh so much in cap space.
I also like the potential of moving Brown to LT - assuming he can do it. Just becaise Roaf succeeded in moving doesn't mean this guy will (see Turley). We need another good lineman so if we took D'brick at #2, I wouldn't be too upset. I'm just really starting to doubt the trade opportunity is going to unfold (for value) and would much prefer taking a O-lineman, whose position is much less risky than picking a LB. You gotta love the moves. They're not earth shattering by any means, but they certainly are interesting. |

We aren't the "Arrington" type of team. The perfect team for Arrington is Washington, because that's the one team that has no problem giving him the kind of jack that he's asking for. Too bad for him he didn't realize that. Considering that the franchise tender at LB for '06 is about $7.1 mil, it's reasonable to assume that we'd have to offer Arrington at least $9 or $10 mil a year for him to come here. Not worth it. |

Thats right duce. way to much money, This years draft is deep in OT at least toll the end off the second or the middle of the third. Sound like the LB, DE, DT. The impact players are Bush, Davis, DBrick, and AJ. I did not make a mistake leaving a QB and DT out of the group. The rest all have a major ? or two surrronding them. So any of the 4 I would take in a heart beat and give them the big bucks of being a top 10 player in the draft. As for OT i will say it again I like these two later in the draft if we do not get DBrick.
LOT Daryn Colledge SR 6-5.5/309/- Boise State ROT Jeremy Trueblood SR 6-9/295/- Boston College Attitude is the mark of a winner. (ie. Roaf/Turley) |
Why is it that every time you mention LaVar Arrington's name, certain people cringe? 1st of all, we need a shut down LB the likes of which we haven't seen in black & gold for some time. LaVar is that type of guy. The guy has unbelievable work ethic, speed, strength, & awareness. Then you guys come with the sour grapes stuff like "he doesn't want to play here" & "he wants Julian Peterson money". LaVar has already gave the finger to the Giants & Bengals for nickle & diming him. :? The man said the other day that he would entertain any team that made him a respectable offer. Offer the man something respectable & we've got a chance. If it doesn't work, fine, at least we tried. And for the record, Arrington is better than Julian Peterson anyday, so if it's Peterson money he wants, give it to him.

i saw on espn or nfl.com that he wants 9 mil and the other teams are not willing to pay and that is why he hasn't signed. screw that. we can get two players for that type of money. 9 mil is ridiculous. hye lavar get your head out yo asssss. if he was so special why was he sitting the bench for part of the year last year.
