Drew Brees on sirius
Drew was on sirius nfl radio today and said he was going to start throwing within the next couple of weeks. They kept asking him why he chose the saints over the dolphines his response was it just felt right in new orleans. The more i hear him talk the more i like what i hear. Back to his arm he said he felt great and could start throwing right now but the doctors do not want him to rush it. He said he loved the offense they are putting in its going to put the ball in the hands of the people who can make plays. Thats just part of what was said it sounded good. When asked if he would be ready for the start of the regular season he said yes. Moose johnson asked him if that was what the doctors are saying and his comment was thats what i am saying. I like this guy!!!

While I appreciate his fortitude and resolve, I think I would rather he listen to the docs on this one. You know what ever D they are playing are going to be gunning for that shoulder. Almost like a bounty on the first to take him out. I rather wait awhile longer till he is healed. I think the ultimate decision will belong to Peyton. Who knows . . .

I think when Edge James came back, every tackler was aiming for his knee. He played through it, and again became an elite back. If Brees says he is ready to throw, let him throw. The sooner he gets the strength back in his arm, the better. If you let him sit and not let him work, his arm will not be strong enough to take the hits. He doesn't need to rush back, but the sooner he feels okay throwing, the better.
