Brees continues to impress me

Quarterback Drew Brees will return to Birmingham, Ala., to continue rehabilitating his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. When practice ended Sunday, Brees stayed behind with several other injured offensive players who had not taken part in drills, such as McAllister, tight ends Ernie Conwell and Shad Meier and wide receiver Donté Stallworth and ran through a few plays. At the end of several plays, Brees lightly tossed the ball to McAllister and smiled when asked whether those soft tosses were the first he has attempted since the Jan. 5 surgery. "Well, I mean, it's nothing nobody doesn't know about," he said. "The physical therapy folks in Birmingham know exactly what I'm doing all the time. We're right on track."
It is so obvious that this guy is ridiculously competitive and hates being on the sidelines. He just can't wait to get in there. It's also obvious that he is going to be an unbelievable leader for this team. He's already meshing with these guys and getting them to stay after practices. He just continues to impress.

Deuce,
Did not see any indication of what the " right track" or time table for his return is? Have you seen or read anything that indicates one way or the other when Brees will be game ready?

It is a breath of fresh air to have a competitive leader at the QB position. Maybe it will be contagious.

I bet he owned Stallworth, Meier and Conwell with his eyes for the entire walkthrough.

It'll be funny if our core group turns out to be these guys. Bonding on the sidelines and running thru stuff afterwards.

Nothing I have read recently has said anything, so since I read that he is lightly throwing the ball and that he really really wants to be out there, I would bet that this guy is going to be ready for sure on opening day.

Man i hope your'e right, because i hate to see T.B. in the opening game of the seasons. But wouldn't it be nice if AMAC beats him out in training camp.

I gotta agree TD, Brees is really impressing me. I think he has what it takes to come back from this injury and be a badazz.
