WR Domenik Hixon Akron 6-2, 200, 4.36
FROM FOOTBALL.COM -

Domenik Hixon (WR-Akron #23) measured in at 6.024, 200, ran thw 40 in 4.34, had a vertical of 38.5, did the short shuttle in 4.04, and the 3 Cone in 6.65 Caught passes from Charlie Frye who was kind enough to drive down to Akron after his workout in Cleveland with the Browns that morning of March 4th. Twelve Teams including Green Bay, San Diego, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, Cincinnati and NY Jets were very impressed and asked his representatives "Where did you find this guy?."
In fact, Hixon started at free safety his first two years and moved to wide receiver when they were short on talent for Charlie Frye to throw to. He returns kicks and punts, can play defense, comes from a disciplined military family with a strong Christian faith. He trained in Arizona under Warren Anderson who claims he was the best player he worked with this year. Another half dozen teams are coming in to see it with their own eyes this Thursday March 23 at 1:30pm and he already has April visits with San Diego and NY Jets scheduled. Hixon will undoubtedly draw even more attention in the coming weeks. Class act with unbelievable work ethic and scored 29 on his wonderlic.
This is a player at the wide receiver position that matches his all out passion for the game with his performance on the field
This is a receiver with better than average athletic ability but what I like most about him is his knack for coming up with the big catches under pressure that other players shy away from under likely conditions
This is a former defensive back that shows his toughness on the field by going up and attacking the ball when thrown in his area, along with the invaluable knack for attacking upfield after the catch, who can also absorb opposing defenders tackles after a catch and make additional yardage after contact consistently, he just plays more physical than his thin build would indicate

This is a receiver with an excellent pair of hands, who rarely if ever drops a ball thrown his way, and has big play ability with questionable top end speed, and who posses fluid range of motion after the catch
He is a dangerous one on one player in open spaces, with his quick feet and moves after the catch which keeps defenders off balance of what to do with him, and has the burst in and out of cuts you look for in a player of elevated skill level
This is definitely one of the better players hidden away with little exposure from most of the average viewing public, but one to look for

With the beer man not getting any younger and the way we drop passes what do you guys think?

RE: WR Domenik Hixon

If we pick up some extra picks in a trade he would be a good third round addition

hey jrmlb start freaking out like your man because besides horn we do not have a reciever worth a sh*t. There fast but have butter for fingers and flinch before they are hit.
This guy can play both sides of the ball and can put on a hit as well as take one. Besides the beer man is not getting any younger. that is possibly three positions for the price of one. the patriots over the pass 2 years have learned that lesson well especially in the secondary.
