this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; He's lame, literally. He was in such a huge hurry to sign with buffalo he didn't even bother to keep his meeting with us. Takeo can suck it. I hope he ends up in detroit, green bay or whichever team ...

Another WLB is not what we need but spikes is a heck of a ball player. So hmmm.....
swap 2 to 8 is 1200 pt difference or the 12th pick in round 1. coming of of injury, he is a big ??? so I would give him a draft value of 265 which is the 1st pick in the 3rd round. Moulds left for the 1st in the 4th. That leaves 935 pts to fill in or the 18th pick in the first round and 14th pick in round 5. So lets get Nate Clements, who is unhappy, thrown in. 2 to 8, spikes, clements and both 3s(420) giving clements a 515 pt value (7th - 2nd). They would go for DBrick, Matt or Miro . We could choice from Vernon Davis, Michael Huff, Winston Justice. Trade down a couple of spots and go for Broderick Bunkley, or Haloti Ngata Done deal. who knows maybe denver would bit and give up 15, Manny Lawson, Chad Jackson or Antonio Cromartiea and 22 Bobby Carpenter if he is not there trade down and get Nick Mangold a couple of spots later. Starting WLB, CB, 2 #1, if the players are there, Chad Jackson and Nick Mangold. With 34 Eric Winston, 2 in the 3rd (70 Terna Nande 73 Dusty Dvoracek), and a 4th Gerris Wilkinson + what ever else. |

So, you don't think Spikes could play SLB, or even MLB? I have seen this dude play several times, and he is a beast on the field. I wouldn't put any LB position out of his range.

Didn't he play inside with Brian Williams in Cincy? I might be wrong though... it's been a while.

I think it's always better to take a proven NFL level player(with no major baggage) than to risk it on an unproven rook....so yes he is welcome here..
