Trade Down to 8?
Buffalo Bills: This franchise has been in search of a legitimate franchise Quarterback since Jim Kelly retired. Recently, they vaulted ahead of the Green Bay Packers to acquire JP Losman; however, it appears the team has no confidence in Losman and has turned to Craig Nall as a potential starter. Craig Nall has meaningless statistics in his career, based on his "mop-up" duties in Green Bay. Based on this assessment, the Bills are well poised to make a jump up the draft board and a move would cost 1200 points on the pick value chart, which is a small price to pay to have a Quarterback with exceptional potential and a low bust factor.
http://www.nfldraftblitz.com/marchingdown.htm Takeo Spikes and Nate Clements are both unhappy campers in Buffalo. so this may happen. But maybe a one or both of thier 3s would have to be added. Any of those two or both, would result in a big cap hit. then package the picks and move back up say with GB and get AJ or Davis. We could stay put and take Winston Justice, Haloi Ngata, or Brockrick Bunkley. With Moulds leaving for the 1st pick in the 5th round says, IMO, they want the best player left over after day 1. Saving some goog money. But a reciever like Moulds it is cheap. so Spikes coming of an injury is worth say a #1 in 3rd rounder = 265 Clement is worth a 1 but a low pick because of cap $$ #24 = 740 1200 - 1005 = 150 pick 73 in the third =225 Would you pull the trigger? |

I love Spikes, but if they wanted to give us Clements, i'd do it in a second. One of the top 5 corners in the league IMO, and he hits well against the run. With Spikes, i'd want their first, second, and third.

Spikes I could see, but am not 100% sure on. Injury and he's bailed on what would be two teams at that point.
Clements...in a minute. That kid is def. a good young corner and would give us a boost in skill and a building block to work from for the secondary when you combine him with Smith and Bullocks. Still, that minute would have to be delayed b/c it would take a helluva lot more than that to get me to drop from the first 5 in this draft |

Spikes, Clements, their 1st & 3rd rounders this year, & a second rounder next year and it's on! We get a stud LB, a top 5 CB in the league, & we can fill needs by drafting Haloti Ngata-DT at #8, Nick Mangold-C or Bobby Carpenter-LB at #34, & we get a 3rd this year. I doubt they would give up this year's second with all that, but I bet we can get next year's second out of them. Ahh...The wheels are turning.
