Yeah, FA QBs left on the market aren't very good (I think we all hope Collins doesn't try to make a "triumphant" return), but when the next round of cuts come down and new guys have been draft by other teams, we will be able to pick up a quality backup...which is what we need....not a flying leap with a 5% chance of panning out like Vick. He wasn't even that good in college when he decided to act like a real man...in a McD's parking lot....in front of high-schoolers.
I'm just saying it doesn't look like we'll get someone (beyond a trade), that could come in a take over in the event the Bree's get's hurt. And getting Vick would be a waste of time I'd leave to some other team.
And yeah, the days of finding a QB diamond in the rough like Brady or Hasselbeck are done, (actually not) but what about the other positions where we can get value at #7? Bockwaldt is a 7. Karney is a 5.
Excactly. Actually not!! There's no way you can predict everything. Scouting isn't an exact sciece. It's getting better, but there will still be players that slip through the cracks and wind up surprising everyone. Now will this happen as frequently? Can teams reduce this? I hope not. It's exciting to see when it happens. And plus it gives that particular player drive when so many teams passed on him. I like to think that A-Mac is our diamond.
