Not bad...we move down from 2, still get our guy, and get 2 extra second rounders. Thats not to say the Packers would do it which would be another key question...but thanks for checking on the point system for me.

RE: just saw this

1. bush
2 young -Williams
3 matt ---DBrick
4 Dbrick-Matt
5 Williams-AJ
6 Davis---Davis
7 AJ------?
Worse case VY falls, we miss out so trade down agaian for one of the left-overs Ngata, Bunkley, Huff, Justice, not bad. I hope they throw in a 1 st next year for this deal.
1, 2(38), 1(2007)= 2020 + 800= 2820
AJ, Dbrick,Davis not in a saints uniform would hurt though. But to numb the pain get 2s. Maybe denver will save us.
1,2(37)=1580
1(15), 2(34), 2(37), 2(38) plus 1(2007) for Quinn
1- Chad Greenway, Jimmy Williams
34 - Nick Mangold, Davin Joseph,
37 - Abdul Hodge, Eric Winston
38 - John McCargo, Max Jean-Gilles
food for thought

well we would get one extra 2nd and by trading the third we wouldn't have a third. we would still have three first day picks and that would be out of the first 38 picks. not to bad in my opinion. i am not sure that will happen but we can dream can't we. like i said either way i would love the trade with the raiders

HOUSTONSAINT 04-21-2006 08:57 PM

hey guys, I would love to see us deal with the Raiders, but there is no way Hawk is a Saint if we make the move. It would either be Huff or Davis that is still on the board at 7. If you make the move, you might as well trade down again to stockpile more picks.

spkb25 04-21-2006 09:02 PM

i disagree you might as well trade down again. you already secure the 34 and 38th in the second. you also add the raiders third which would be the 69th. i wouldn't take davis but huff for sure. then you stil;l have three other picks on the first day. this isn't a sprint

hagan714 04-21-2006 09:28 PM

let's see oaklands 1, 2, 3 = 1500 + 520 + 245 = 2265 plus a 2 0r a 3 in 2007. that would gut this years draft for them. 1,2 and a 1 next year seems more likely. As for Huff I like his game but if some one wants him and we can get one of the DT or the second best of: OT, LB, CB, in the draft plus picks I would do it. Besides that would also give you a fair shot at Chad Jackson also the best WR in the draft.
Davis over Huff all day long at 7

spkb25 04-21-2006 09:42 PM

what is a first next year worth. i am not sure but i would take that. so you get three first day picks 7,34,38. then you also get a first next year for sure. especially because if they are looking at vince or matt they aren't going to make the playoffs probably which means you probably get a top 15 next year. they would have to throw in a 4rth or 5th this year i think

spkb25 04-21-2006 09:48 PM

they would have to give us their first this year second this year and fourth this year and then their first next year if it was worth 400- 500 . that would work

hagan714 04-21-2006 10:01 PM

Next year first rounder are given a flat 800 pt value. 400 pts. is the flat value given to the second round picks
